A federal lawsuit is being filed Friday challenging Georgia’s “Stand Your Ground” law, claiming that the seven-year-old statute is too vague and unconstitutional.
The lawsuit is brought by the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, a man imprisoned for shooting someone in self defense and the parent of another man who was shot and his killer was acquitted.
Georgia common law has allowed a self-defense argument for more than a century. But in 2006, the Legislature passed a statute that says that self defense can be claimed by anyone in any circumstance ”if they have a reasonable belief” that they or anyone else is in danger.
“People are being killed and or punished arbitrarily,” said the Rev. Jesse Jackson, head of the Rainbow PUSH coalition.

More blacks have benefited FROM stand your ground (2-3x their national population average).
It also had nothing to do with Treyvons as ‘stand your ground’ wasn’t used by the defense. It was simple self defense.
If Georgia’s version of the SYG law includes a civil litigation shield, you can bet that’s what the “Reverend” is really upset about.
Doesn’t GA have any “Get your crazy @$$ butt outta town” laws?

Does Jackson’s organization have standing in this case?
How in hell does J “Extortion” Jackson have any standing in filing a lawsuit in GA? He hasn’t been ‘damaged’ in any way by their SYG law.

Really pisses him off that he and the Bros might not be able to keep intimidating folks with a up-close-in-your-face tactic because "some fool might think they were in danger and murder some poor good Samaritan".
Why is that?
Crime statistics tell the story.
Jesse doesn't want Hispanic, Native American, Asian and White victims to be able to defend themselves against black thugs.
Can Rainbow Push afford to support this case and pay child support for Jesse too?

No duty to retreat prior to use of force in self-defense A person who uses threats or force in accordance with Code Section 16-3-21, relating to the use of force in defense of self or others, Code Section 16-3-23, relating to the use of force in defense of a habitation, or Code Section 16-3-24, relating to the use of force in defense of property other than a habitation, has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and use force as provided in said Code sections, including deadly force.
A reverend with no church isn’t much of a reverend.
