Former Republican governor turned Democrat Charlie Crist filed paperwork Friday to run for his old job with his new party, a move that will turn the race into one of the most watched in the nation.
Crist is now the front-runner to represent Democrats against Republican Gov. Rick Scott, one of the most unpopular chief executives in the country. Scott, though, will be well-financed and is expected to spend as much as $25 million in attack ads against Crist.
For Crist, he is hoping to revive a political career that seemingly crashed when he left the GOP and lost an independent run for U.S. Senate to Republican Marco Rubio in 2010.
If he succeeds, it will be an amazing turnaround for the person who many thought could be 2008 GOP presidential nominee John McCain's running mate, if not a Republican presidential candidate in his own right.
Crist's downfall in the Republican Party can be linked to an appearance with President Barack Obama in 2009. The Democratic president hugged Crist during a rally to support a $787 billion federal stimulus package that most Republicans opposed.
Crist lost and took a job with the Morgan & Morgan personal injury law firm. He then began re-emerging in politics as a Democrat. His wife, Carole, registered as a Democrat first. He then began donating money to Democratic candidates, including Sen. Bill Nelson. He endorsed Obama over Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and campaigned heavily for the president. In December, he made the party conversion complete when he tweeted a photo of himself at the White House with his voter registration card.

Crist is working as an ambulance-chaser (when he isn’t working glory holes at rest areas). No matter how unpopular Scott is, people hate Crist just as bad.
At least we should know who it is we're voting for.
Being a lying, traitorous, self-absorbed, opportunistic scum sucking piece of dog shite, he makes a perfect Democrat.

Just love this leftist propaganda. Crist is the front-runner according whom? Well, it’s according to the left-wing fascist Farrington. How much credibility is that? None. Zero. Zilch.
These monkey-grinding left-wing trolls have no credibilty. They show up, piss on the floor and expect cheers. Screw that.
Farrington the flying fascist monkey is looking for relevance beyond sitting on his ass and hoping for love. Sorry, monkey-boy, there’s no love for you.
Go bury yourself before we do it for you.
They never, ever, EVER just.... go... away.

Rick Scott is one of the most unpopular?
i live in Florida and aside from very few issues that I don’t see eye to eye with him, I’d say he’s been fairly good especially compared to countless other politicians I read about.
Turncoat Charlie is disgusting. I’m sickened by the thought that he might be our governor again one of these days. He needs to crawl back under the rock he slithered out from.
If the vast majority of Republican officeholders would do that, we would all have a better picture.
I voted for Crist once and consider it a huge mistake.
Crist is like a two bit hooker. He’ll be whoever you want him to be.
He’s gonna get his butt beatin’ big time!
Go ahead Dems waste money on this race!
For the most part, Rick Scott has been a good Governor.

He is ? According to whom ? ... Oh’ libtard say so....
I live in Florida....I think Scott is doing a good job....circle filed the idiotic boondoggle speed rail....he is bringing in new business....Amazon just signed off on two locations to build distribution centers...housing is coming back...
Is Scott perfect? No.... But he is a far better choice than that fraud Crist.
LOLOLOL.
Did the Zimmerman fiasco help or hurt Rick Scott? Or did it have no impact at all on his poll ratings?
