Hahahah. Small arms, at most. Frankfurt airport (Germany) has had machine gun toting security for years ... at least 1991 (saw it with my own eyes), and probably decades before that.
Heavy weaponry takes more than one person to move around, or is self-propelled.

I’ve been to many countries - the only time I saw guns drawn was the airport at Munich, Germany, and they were rifles, not handguns.

Right you are: I went through the Frankfurt airport in... 1989, I believe: the military presence was definitely an eye-opener.
