For awhile, I was sympathetic to this cause. "Families should stay together", "Children should be with their parents", and so on.

Then, I had an epiphany.

If I committed a felony - pick one, any one - the court system wouldn't be sympathetic to *my* family. I'd be expected to go to jail, do the time, and my family would be expected to cope with my absence.

So, no more sympathy here. These illegals have made their bed, now they've got to lie in it.

Even the wording, “torn apart,” is to give the impression that the families were involuntarily and cruelly ripped apart, when the truth is, a member of the family knowingly sneaked across our border or overstayed a visa, violating our laws for their own benefit.
