How long has it been since Obamacare was shoved down our throats? I believe it's been around three years since the liberal Democrats in Congress (remember that for later) passed the Affordable Care Act without a single Republican vote. During the debate over the bill, as well as since that time, we have warned America about what is coming down the road. We have had to fight an onslaught in the media, as President Obama and the rest of the liberal Democrats have done their best to pass their lies off to America as the truth. That seemed to have worked. That is, until October 1 rolled around and the debacle that is Obamacare started showing itself for what it really is.
The Obamacare website, less well-known as Healthcare.gov, has become the poster child for the failures of the largest government entitlement program in modern history. It has been a complete and total disaster. In spite of Kathleen Sebelius' denials, the website has crashed. More than once. Having said that, the failure of the website is just the tip of the iceberg. Couple that with the sticker shock most people are receiving, should they manage to sign up for health care insurance in the exchanges, and the damage starts to mount. Once you add in the reality of the cancellation letters many people are receiving, it gets even worse. And just so you know, Jay Carney's claim that those cancellation letters are only going out to a small percentage of the population is false. Conservative Hideout has more information on that.
Now that the Obamacare debacle is on display for all to see, some of the Democrats in Congress are starting to have their own version of sticker shock. Some of the most liberal members of the Democratic caucus are not happy because of what has transpired since October 1. Actually, that's an understatement. Some of them are quite upset.
The Hill - Senate Democrats vented their frustrations over the faulty rollout of the Affordable Care Act in a meeting Thursday with White House chief of staff Denis McDonough and other senior officials. Here I go into sarcastic mode, but BOO HOO! CRY ME A RIVER!Theres a lot of frustration, everywhere, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said after the meeting.
McDonough tried to assure angry senators he is personally taking charge of the disparate federal offices in charge of implementing the massive law, which has been plagued by technical errors.
He gave us the impression that hes taking charge of the different elements and cracking the whip. He said to let him know if we had concerns, said a Democratic senator who attended the meeting.
Marilyn Tavenner, the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Jeffrey Zients, whom President Obama has tapped to troubleshoot the bugs afflicting HealthCare.gov, also attended the meeting.
Democratic senators facing reelection in 2014 were some of the most vocal critics.
Let me remind you that some of these Senators are the very people who voted to give us this mess. They have preached that it is something that has to be done, something that America needs. They have extolled its virtues, to the point that we were sick of hearing their lies. Now that they are realizing just how problematic Obamacare is, and continues to be, they are having nightmares about their reelection prospects. This is their version of damage control.
Make no mistake about this. These Senators are not concerned about the problems Obamacare is causing for Americans. Their only concern is how quickly the concerns can be addressed, in relation to the mid-term elections coming in 2014. This is truly titting, as they are worried they are about to be booted out of Congress for their part in supporting and passing Obamacare into law. They have a right to be worried because their constituents are hurting. That hurting may bear the fruit of their defeat about one year from now.
You'll have to forgive me if I have very little sympathy for their plight. These are some of the same people who voted for Obamacare. They are responsible for bringing it to the point where President Obama could sign it into law. They are responsible for lying to the American people about how great and grand Obamacare was going to be. They are now receiving the fruits of their labor and their just rewards.
In the coming months, as Obamacare continues to unfold in our faces, remember this. It was the Democrats who forced this upon us. It was the Democrats who have lied to us about Obamacare's purpose and scope. We tried to warn you. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and a few other conservatives tried to tell America just how bad it was going to be. They were shouted down and otherwise sidelined, even by their own party. If you voted for the Democrats, either in Congress, or for President Obama, this is your fault. We tried to warn you and you didn't listen.
Oh....I guess they can now “see what’s in the legislation” since they voted on it - three years ago.
Repeal.
Not as upset as the electorate.
They could never imagine my lack of pity.
When I saw the picture above, I immediately thought of the three stooges.
Maybe they should try reading a bill some day.
Tar and feathers would be nice.
Some of these folks need to be shamed and shown they are ministers without portfolio...
I guess I must be sleeping.
I haven’t heard any hue and cry from Democrats.
I haven’t heard the screaming. I have heard Waxman say what a great job Sebelius was doing. I don’t remember reading how the Democrats want to fire her, or how they want to postpone Obamacare for a year. I must be living under rock or something.
I just don’t hear the Democrats screaming. The President is obviously happy this thing is leading to the Single Payer form that he wants, and his fat butted wife is leading us to diet while she eats like horse.
Millstone....Neck.....DEAL WITH IT!!
The ONLY Democrats that are not happy are the ones up for re-election in red or purple states.
“I havent heard any hue and cry from Democrats.”
Apparently only 16 Democrats are up for reelection in 2014. (I thought it was 21. One third of the Senate’s six year terms are up for election every two years.) All 16 have come out against Obamacare. To my knowledge they are the only ones to do so. They would, of course, reverse themselves if reelected. But enough voters are dumb as bricks and will believe what they’re saying now as opposed to learning from history.
Good article.
Really, no one should be surprised that one the one hand the punishment part of Obamacare is thumbs up while the delivery part is thumbs down.
And there is one large group of folk who, who more than any others, who has a right to complain.
We need to proofread our work more carefully - America's enemies use trivial points as support for their claim that we're just not smart enough to understand how good socialism will be. Typos are their proof that we're not bright enough to make our own decisions on health care and freedom.
Senate DemonRATS are upset that Obamacare is FAILINBG TOO FAST. It was always meant to fail—and then morph into what they really want:
SOCIALIZED MEDICINE, EUTHANASIA, ASSISTED SUICIDE, ABORTIONS FOR MINORS WITHOUT PARENTAL CONSENT, KILLING SENIOR CITIZENS, AND MURDERING DEFECTIVE CHILDREN (in the womb and out).
However, it is failing so fast that GOVERNMENT is taking the blame, instead of the private sector, which was the plan. If the government is perceived to have caused the problem, then it will not be perceived to be the solution. Therefore, the RATS are on the hook big time. They broke it—THEY OWN IT. BOO HOO.
Yep.. The dems up for reelection next year now know what’s in it...
Kryptonite.
And you own it, dems. ALL of it. Now line up for your millstone fitting.
Exactly. They didn't factor in the consequences of their own ineptitude.
at every twist and turn, they had opportunities to repeal this mess and have an open and fair debate about the issue but they all, to a member, demonized and attacked anyone that dared question dear leader.
It’s their crapwich, I hope they enjoy it.
