Landrieu: So I’m going to be working on ...

DOA legislation that I can use next fall, so that I can campaign on "I tried, but..."

This bill literally is taking a campaign slogan, and then going thru the pointless motions to pass it.

The Employer Mandate is a significantly bigger issue.

When this kicks in, all Hell will break loose.

I disagree. I think the insurance jobs go south the next five years and you will have a whole new middle man to deal with that are all new Democrat union government employees.

It is not in Obama and Democrat's interest to have remnants of the private insurance system around to take back over if people repeal Obamacare.

Hey, if I ever decide to poop a kid, it'll probably have to happen just that way. Can I be a donor to myself? I have no idea if Husseincare covers THAT.

See my post #52. The employer mandate was delayed a year. Technically, they won't become illegal until 2015. I anticipate by the same time next year, we will have employers dumping their insurance plans. They will give their employees sufficient time to get on the exchanges and get replacement insurance.

There is a reason why Obama agreed so readily to the delay of the employer mandate. It is all politics all the time. They knew that they will take a hit and decided to delay the hit while they do the roll out of Obamacare. They didn't think it would be such a disaster so now they have a problem now and next year.

The insurance companies have made it quite clear that they do not want the individual mandate delayed.

The Republicans (I am a Libertarian) should announce that they will assist and help Obama with the full implementation of Obamacare and really do it. They should also announce that in two years they will promise to terminate, destroy, revoke, kill and strangle Obamacare when they have the votes in the House and Senate.

To paraphrase Nancy Pelosi, “you got to experience Obamacare to know if you like it.” Schadenfraude is a bitch.

Yes, the information from the government was that more than half would NOT be able to grandfather in plans, so there will be a hundred million seeing sticker shock from Obamacare.

Yes, things will get much worse after the employer mandate kicks in. Wait until the Independent Payment Advisory Board (the death panels) go into operation and we will see how much worse this is going to be. So far we have only seen the tip of the ice berg.

Right on, just in time for the largest part of the population that will become seniors. Less care, no care in some cases except for pain and you can choose Kevorkian as your doctor at no extra charge.

No, not pregnant. That is fear welling up in her viscera. “It be more filling” than crawfish gumbo washed down with a six pack of Dixie Beer.

My apologies to the epicureans of South Louisiana cuisine. A good crawfish gumbo is a pleasure, Mary Landrieu is not.

The Mom and Pops little restaurantes that may also be a small grocery store in and around New Orleans will serve you up some of the best food you ever had and it is 100% bad for your health, but is worth it.

This all seems very complicated. Can’t we just pass a law banning illness?

That just gave me a great idea for a way out for Obama.

From now on, we call it "being under the weather," and then that kicks it over to the Commerce Department.

Disagree all you like. The insurance companies will survive just as they have with Medicare. Nine out of ten Medicare recipients have supplemental insurance. We will have within 20 years twice as many on Medicare as we have now.

Insurance companies exist in other countries that have single payer systems including the UK. We will have one system for the great unwashed and another for those who have money. Boutique medicine is already a fact in the US. You can pay an annual fee and have a special group practice provide you services. No waiting lines, appointments, etc. It is personalized health care for those who can afford it. The best doctors and hospitals will gravitate in that direction.

Top Hospitals Opt Out of Obamacare. Americans who sign up for insurance on the state exchanges may not have access to the nation's top hospitals.

It is not in Obama and Democrat's interest to have remnants of the private insurance system around to take back over if people repeal Obamacare.

First, he will not be able to eradicate the private insurance companies, which actually will help cement Obamacare in place. Second, it will almost be impossible to repeal Obamacare now. They will mend it, not end it. Hillary or whoever is the Dem nominee in 2016 will make sure that no repeal is done. The reelection of Obama sealed our fate.

Not just voting Republican, but vetting a candidate and paying more attention. We’re in this mess because America is asleep at the wheel and voters are letting thieves, liars and socialists into DC.

“The promise was made, and it should be kept,” Landrieu said in the Capitol Wednesday.

February 11, 2003: Landrieu bragged about support for Estrada in campaign ads.

Mary Landrieu has worked close to the Hispanic Community. Immediately following the destruction of Hurricane Mitch in Nicaragua and Honduras, Mary Landrieu was the first representative of the US to visit Honduras and involve herself with the relief effort for those affected by the hurricane and she obtained 11 million dollars in support of the affected families. Mary Landrieu ALSO SUPPORTED THE CANDIDACY OF THE HONDURAN MIGUEL ESTRADA FOR THE FEDERAL COURT OF APPEALS. Mary Landrieu has always been close to our community, she has grown, socialized and worked along our side. An announcement paid for by friends of Mary Landrieu."

February 12, 2003: Landrieu disavows Estrada ads

Sen. Mary L. Landrieu, who is now opposing the nomination of Miguel Estrada to a federal appeals court judgeship, ran Spanish-language radio ads during her campaign for a December runoff election saying she supported his nomination.

The ads, which ran on a New Orleans radio station for almost two weeks, praised Mrs. Landrieu's outreach to Hispanics and specifically noted Mr. Estrada.

¿Cómo Se Dice "Liar"?: Landrieu on Estrada

When Landrieu was confronted with this "apparent contradiction," her staff, no doubt using President Clinton's deposition as a "how to" guide for politicos caught in "apparent contradictions" issued the following statement:

Unfortunately, some of my supporters in the Hispanic community who helped us produce this commercial misinterpreted my neutrality as a statement of support. I take personal responsibility for the error and I apologize to anyone who was mislead by these ads, which ran for less than two weeks on one radio station in New Orleans.

That still keeps the government involved. Repeal the whole damn thing and get the government completely out of health care.

“Not just voting Republican, but vetting a candidate and paying more attention. We’re in this mess because America is asleep at the wheel and voters are letting thieves, liars and socialists into DC.”

Mitt Romney was not the leading candidate when every MSM station ran stories with the lead, “Leading Republican contender Mitt Romney yadda yadda...” They made him the leading candidate. The GOP establishment backed him. He was, though, at least an American.

“Too late. The insurance companies have already cancelled these policies and removed them from their systems.”

Doesn’t matter. The dems can pass this vote and make it law, then next year at re-election time they can say “We passed a law, but those evil insurance companies STILL cancelled your policies.”

And the LONG view they are selling is “Insurance companies and those rich doctors are what is wrong with this whole thing. The government needs to take the whole thing over so they can’t screw us over any more.”

OK, got it.

It is bitterly disappointing to watch people be manipulated like this. Of course they shouldn’t have to wait until they get a letter in the mail from their insurance company cancelling their plan to realize Obama lied to them. And they shouldn’t have to wait for their employer to do the same NEXT year. I hope a significant number of people actually get a clue.
