I graduated from DEOMI in 1985. A WASP male from the South, I was immediately tagged as a racist needing remedial counseling in a small group setting, as were pretty much all white males. The course was 16 weeks long 8+ hours M-F. The ACE Guide gave it 15 hours of undergraduate and 9 hours of graduate credit. It was interesting to say the least. Did I get paybacks from black instructors who routinely downgraded assignments that were better than others? Sure, why care? Was one on one feedback to black instructors on factually incorrect information dismissed as a white guy trying to make a black guy look bad? Sure, who cares. I did represent two minorities, one black one Hispanic at academic dismissal hearings and got both retained by using the schools own propaganda. I did do badly on the Androgyny Indicator test and was counseled that I needed to learn more overtly female skills such as empathy and caring. Like I said, who cares. These people were and are sent out to be basically a change agent by investigating minority (always minority) compalints and make the established white male cadre give minorites as much slack as can be obtained. Now let me say that not all, not even a majority of the proud minority men and woman I served with bought into this PC BS. I investigated nearly 50 complaints and not a one of them ever got to article 15 hearings much less a “conviction” Never the less DEOMI continued to be more and more radicalized. Even in 1985 there was a club on Patrick Henry Air Base that catered only to woman, where only woman danced and guys were, while not officially banned, encouraged to go to another club. Lord knows what they got now.

I too graduated DEOMI 1984, I as well needed remedial counseling, which also consisted of an extremely harsh written reprimand, I never heard such whining and crying in my life, as what went on in small group, of course not graduating DEOMI, for any reason other than academic was an absolute career killer. I developed good acting skills that got me through the next three years.

The reprimand was excluded from my records upon graduation, as they promised.
