The Norwegian government is telling couples to go on date nights in a bid to reduce the country's 40 per cent divorce rate. As the number of married couples splitting up increases, authorities have taken inspiration from the 2010 film Date Night and are urging people to make time for each other one night a week. People aged between 40 and 44 are the most likely to break up, the Telegraph reports. Solveig Horne, the new minister for children, equality and social inclusion and herself a divorcee, is behind the push.
'My sister lives in the US and she told me that she and her husband have a weekly date night and it really works. Date night isn't really something that is done in Norway but I think it could be a good way to keep marriages together.' The Norwegian government has increased funding for state-run couples counselling service. Norway's media has so far been hostile to the proposal, saying it is proof that the ruling Populist party is drifting to the centre-right and linking it to moves by conservative groups in the US to promote date nights.

Strange— for some unknown reason, that stupid song was my earworm yesterday. Pretty sure I have not heard it in years.
The marriage is already in trouble after two years. Unfortunate for me as he is an endless source of humor and entertainment.
I know a lot about this, and the Norwegian birth rate is heavily influenced by especially Somali immigrants.
Every extra kid you get is like winning the lottery, Norwegian style.
I have a little sister who works in the government welfare section. It is still crazy.
For goodness sake, a few months ago one of her best friends were beheaded at the front desk.
That was at her office. One immigrant (Pakistani) walked up behind her and slit her throat. These offices look like a hotel lobby so now security.
We have a tough challenge ahead. That is why I look here for wisdom and inspiration.
As far as the birth rates go? I think they do help. But, government initiatives that encourage childbearing might make a Norwegian couple have an extra kid or two.
It makes the Somali gal have 10. so...
It is the whole self gratification culture. Little honour and little self sacrifice left.
That goes for both sexes. It wasnt only womens lib. It was the whole movement to liberate ourselves from the old values.

Some it up well, IMO.
Norway still has to answer for “What Does the Fox Say?”
Let me try that again. Sorry.
“Some it up well, IMO.” should be “Sums it up well, IMO.”
So well put!!
...guys just need a break from women every now and then.
&&&
Amen! Amen! (Says the woman who raised 4 boys.)
It says ringedingdomg :P
Look for Ylvis to be at Times Square at New Years Eve. lol.
Btw. Check out some of their other songs. Stonehenge in particular. Now they have made a homo anthem for Massachusets. Not sure how well that will go down :P
Which sort of brings me to the point.
The Ylvis brothers have been famous here for a decade. They hate soccer, so already the gaydar is up :P
But, of course they are not gay. They have been happily married with children for years.
The left cultural elite want everyone else to “enjoy” alternative lifestyles.
But, themselves? They have tradidional marriages to a man and woman.
Things that makes you go, hrm?
And turn off the cell phones during the date!
And my wife undoubtedly enjoyed the break from my son and me. ;)
My son wants to go back to Utah, and I'll be happy to oblige him. I think we'll add "Hiking the Narrows" at Zion next time. If my wife wants to join us this trip, I'll have to find suitable activities for her.
And I'll need to be in much better shape, by adding in some serious stair-stepping for the mile-high hikes.
