Conservative group hits McConnell in new TV ad

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is getting hit from both sides in the aftermath of the government shutdown -- and the latest volley comes from conservatives in the Kentucky contest.

The Senate Conservatives Fund, which endorsed McConnell’s GOP challenger Matt Bevin earlier this month, is launching its first TV ad since officially wading into the race, and it charges that “McConnell helped Barack Obama and Harry Reid fund Obamacare.”

“Conservatives asked Mitch McConnell to lead the fight against Obamacare. He didn't listen,” the 30-second ad says. “Now Kentucky families are paying the price. Premiums up, lost coverage, even lost jobs. When Kentucky needed Mitch McConnell the most, he let us down. Now he’s asking us to give him six more years in Washington?”

The $330,000 ad buy from the group’s super PAC arm, Senate Conservatives Action, will run statewide on broadcast and cable stations from Oct. 30 through Nov. 12. It’s the second SCF ad targeting McConnell, founded by now-Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint. Before the shutdown, they had launched another TV ad urging McConnell not to back down from defunding Obamacare.

Mitch is certainly more of a hindrance than a help.

His Senate strategeries have failed, are failing and doomed to fail in the future.

I'd say if he isn't primaried out, he needs to go down in the General. As encouragement for the others.

I think Boehner doesn’t have a credible resourced opponent yet. Plus, I think Jim DeMint is focused on the Senate.

McConnell has 17 MILLION to spend on his war against Conservatives while insisting HE is the only Conservative in KY.

The ONLY fight against the Left he will muster - is in the General election to ensure he retains his seat agains the Democrat.

Then he will go back to being the stealth saboteur of Conservatives and the protector of the Ruling Class he always was.

The dough is for a dam on the navigable Ohio. It directly benefits States on the Ohio and Mississippi and indirectly many others.

The project commenced in 1995 and is scheduled for completion in 2020. The actual construction site appears to be on the Indiana shore.

That being said, it could be a major boondoggle/overreach by the Army Corpse of Engineers given the amount of time and treasure spent on it.

"Eight months later, SS5 remains perched on the shoreline along with partially built shells, evidence of a failure that haunts taxpayers and ripples across the nation’s inland waterway system.

"A Post-Dispatch review of thousands of pages of documents and more than two dozen interviews reveal a project plagued by cost overruns, delays and engineering challenges stemming largely from the corps’ stubborn insistence on an innovative construction method that met its match in the unruly Ohio River.

" A project that should have been completed years ago has quadrupled in cost because of management failures for which the Corps of Engineers has yet to be held accountable."

Funding it as part of the passage of a "clean" bill IS outrageous.

BTTT

I’m tire of McConnell carrying water for the Dhimms and then trying to cut conservatives off at the knees.

McConnell reportedly told K Street lobbyists that he is ready to do battle with conservatives/Tea Partiers.

Bring it on, jerk.

they are forming coalitions to attack Cruz and Lee because they dared to defy the GOPe.

I will gladly work to bury the GOP before I’ll attack conservatives. I am no longer a believer in their party. I’ll not side with anything but individual conservatives within it. They’ve lost me as far as my being part of a “party” is concerned. Until they become a conservative party.

Thanks for the info. That is certainly news to most of us. It is a project like that Boston tunnel that kept swallowing more and more federal dollars.
