“Bout time they had to eat ramen like the working class.”
I am in the top 10% and I still eat ramen. You have to have some fresh or frozen vegetables to put in it to really make it good. Spinach does really well in ramen.
The packaged ramen is often full of msg.
I have mustard greens & Swiss chard growing in my winter garden. Still have some watermelons left, no frost yet.
This was not a fruit year. Late frost around the 1st of May saw to that. Will begin gathering pecans pretty soon.
And guess what, I share with my neighbors.
It is how it is in small town America.
Ramen with chickennuggets and spaghetti sauce.
We're probably higher than that, but here in the Philadelphia area, if you're not getting any government subsidies, you're downright middle class up to about $150k. Anyway, we don't eat Ramen because it's too much sodium for us, but we do eat lots of eggs and peanut butter because that's what we can afford. My wife and I went to BJ's yesterday and I was looking in our cart and realizing that we've traded down on so many things - even our bread is BJ's brand.
I like ramen! My favorite is chicken. I always drain the juice off into a big coffee cup and have it separate. Makes for a tasty cup off soup.
Ramen only needs half the seasoning packet. Save the remaining half to season something else. Same with just using half the amount of sugar in koolaid and less than half the amount of laundry detergent. Don’t forget to boil down the Thanksgiving turkey carcass to have stock for homemade soup at a later date. Hey, taxpayers have to scrimp and save so we can send more to the EBT crowd.
Poach an egg in it.
