Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., on Thursday urged Virginia Republicans supporting Robert C. Sarvis, the Libertarian candidate for governor, to come home to the GOP and vote for Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, the partys nominee.
I consider myself to be a libertarian conservative, a libertarian Republican, Paul said in a phone interview Thursday. A lot of things (Cuccinelli) talks about are free-market, limited-government, leave-me-alone government. I think there is a lot to like there.
What Im excited about in Ken Cuccinelli is that he is smart, he is articulate, and he has a keen sense of justice, Paul said. Cuccinellis attempt to challenge the Affordable Care Act in court was one of the things that catapulted a nationwide debate over the constitutionality of the health care law, he said.
Paul, a potential Republican presidential contender for 2016, will campaign with Cuccinelli in Fairfax County and Virginia Beach next week. His visit to the state comes as the attorney general faces headwinds from members of his own party who have defected to Sarvis

In your view he;s run a crap campaign so it’s a case of you thinking you won’t vote for him.
Hell , no wonder the Dems get their agenda passed so easy and to think we need VA for the 2016 election.
“In your view he;s run a crap campaign so its a case of you thinking you wont vote for him.”
In part, yes. His campaign is crap not because it’s being incompetently run (which it is), but because it has caused KC to stray away from conservative ideas. While actions matter more than words, words DO matter as well. If in the heat of campaign scrutiny you’re not willing to stick to your ideals, then what does that say about you?
I’m not playing footsie with weak-kneed gop candidates anymore. We have one of those in Richmond right now. Much to my regret I voted for the tax hiking, ethically challenged wastrel. If I don’t vote for the gop candidate this time out of an excess of caution then so be it.
As for “their agenda” the ‘rats seem to be getting it passed regardless of what the gop wing of the uniparty does. And a large part of WHY is that we on the conservative side of the fence are willing to accept candidates that are embarassed to speak and act as conservatives.
agree if you do not agree on issues but do not agree if you won’t vote for Ken because you think he ran a bad campaign, infact I;ve never heard anyone even do that and think they will give the race to the Dems.
I just hope that others in VA do not share the same view as you and think letting the Clinton hack get a victory is better than having Ken because he might have ran a bad campaign.

I haven’t said that I absolutely will not vote for KC, because when faced with the actual ballot screen in front of me, I might. I will definitely vote for EW Jackson and Mark Obenshain. You can take that to the bank.
I have little enthusiasm for KC at this point. A conservative with great promise who has suddenly gone all squishy. Maybe he thinks that’s the way to win?
I don’t really have much enthusiasm about most but he;s not that bad compared to Hillarys crony
