President Barack Obama told Merkel that he was not aware her phone was being bugged, or he would have stopped it.

The truth being an utter anathema to all that I loathe about Obama, the spying seems to be going on longer than we ever imagined. Despite having seen it expressed in mocking sarcastic reference myriad of times, I find myself incapable of saying that it's you-know-who's fault.

Comments made by the Sociopath-in-Chief about what he's only just discovered (yeah, sure whatever you say, we absolutely believe you, BUWHAHAHAHAHA) merely makes him out to be the duplicitous, lying, SOB, world's laughing stock, he's proven himself to be.

I would take this with a grain of salt. Merkel was not Chancellor in 2002. Maybe the Bush Admin was spying on her anyway, but I simply no longer believe a word that comes out of the Obama Admin. Especially when he’s blaming others for EVERYTHING.

Ring.....ring.....ring

“Guten Tag!”

“Pantpantpant.”

“Barack! Is that you again?”

“No Angie. It’s me, Joe Biden.”

“Don’t you have anything better to do than make dirty phone calls to me?”

“Putin’s line is busy.”

Naturally, our totally ignorant president was ignorant about the spying, just as he only knows what he reads in the papers. What a flop of a leader.

Seems no end of what this government will do.

The constitution does not rein them in.

The law does not rein them in.

Common decency does not rein them in.

I fear we are all in for ‘interesting times’ ahead.

All I can say is, it’s no wonder certain people seem to have inside information regarding stock and bond movements. With the NSA’s ability to spy on any world leader (or corporate CEO for that matter), is there any such thing as an untampered with stock and bond market?

‘The White House assured Merkel that her phone is not being tapped now.”

That's the funniest thing I've read in a long time. A statement from the “White House” is worth less than a fart from a rat's ass.

Well from a European point of view: You guys obvoiusly do not understand that the “problem” can not be reduced on Obama. The spying on Merkels cellphone started in 2002, long before Obama was president.

You might not think that trust and friendship are important. Many of you understand Germany and the rest of Europe still as a occupied area. But it is not. America lost its influence on the old continent during the last decade in a fundamental way. Like it or hate it, but the “no” of Chancellor Schroeder during your Iraq-campain and your so called “war on terror” was the end of the old system of power in Europe. Long before Obama. The outcome could be in the long term, that espechially we Germans turn away from the US and NATO some day. There is a deep gap between the anglo-american side and “old Europe”, even if such reasonable politicians like Merkel do everything not to carry it to the extremes. “New” (Eastern) Europe was and is simply disappointed about American politics since 2002. Their help in Iraq and elsewhere never paid out for them. Therefore it might be quite likely that they find themselves in an stream away from the US, if the big and powerful European countries like Germany and France overthink their relationship with America.

You should know that her predecessor Schroeder from the leftist SPD had a much better relationship with Putin than with your former president, George W. Bush. Just imagine what could happen if Merkels successor has simular feelings and finds out that we Germans can do perfectly without you.

It would not only be a bye bye from Ramstein, but you Americans should also ask yourself how many “real” friends the US have left on this little planet after they lost central Europe. The UK, Pakistan and Tuvalu?

It is not the end of the US in Europe (since I i.e. do not believe that German friends should be searched in Russia only), but it is difficult to find sympathy among our people for a nation that steals our secrets and misuses our trust.

Therefore: Help the friends of the US on the old continent and return to friendship and trust.
