CGI Federal Inc., the mastermind behind healthcare.gov, is assisting the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the distribution of $1.7 billion in relief for Hurricane Sandy.
In a memo obtained by FreedomWorks titled, Minutes of the 295th meeting of the members of the Housing Trust Fund Corporation held on May 9, 2013, at 8:30 a.m., CGI Federal is tasked with implementing the Disaster Housing Assistance Program. Additionally, they are asked to aid in the implementation of the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program, an assistance program that had recently obtained $1.7 billion.
Item five of the meeting agenda reads:
Mr. Nelson presented that the State received a $1.7 billion allocation in CDBG Disaster Recovery aid from HUD to aid impacted businesses and residences. He stated that the States Action Plan was approved on April 26, 2013 and HTFC is currently in a phase of implementing the program. He stated that in this phase, the corporation needs to stand-up its recovery programs as soon as possible to deliver critical resources, and in order to do so, the corporation requires immediate access to consultant services to assist in policy and procedure development, training, surge capacity, and call center assistance, and stated that CGI Federal Inc. could provide such services. The resolution was passed and scheduled to take effect immediately.
The Associated Press revealed Tuesday that a mere $700 million of the $60 billion federal aid package 1.2 percent of the total funds has been given to victims of super storm Sandy.
Nearly a year after the devastating storm, a majority of the 24,000 families that have requested monetary assistance have yet to receive a penny from the federal aid package.
“.... a continent-scale smash-and-grab looting of everything they could lay their hands on....”
Well said.
election is over
Christie in Barry’s back pocket
So the hold up is the Government agncy working with insurance policies and lenders.
Expect more delay when they are "in charge of health care insurance ".
The delay now is almost ONE YEAR !!
I am sure that doctors can afford their office rental, staffing , medical machinery ,health care insurance for employees almost indefintely ... NOT !!
or maybe they can wait a year ... NOT
And now this same organization is in charge of the national healtcare.gov ?
Expect more doctor retirements ,early retirements , and private concierge medical care ;
and expect more Canadian citizens comming over the border for medical care rather than wait nine months just to see their doctor.
The best indicator of government/ corporate behavior is ...past behavior !!
We're SCREWED !!
The Democrats have figured out that there’s money to be made in misery. The Clintons and Soros figured it out in Bosnia. Why do you think Hillary and Obama helped overthrow the government of Libya? It’s the money.
I hope it goes up in flames!
When’s the party?!
Christie may be....whatever he might be, but I myself think his appeal stops dead in its tracks at the Jersey border. Just my .02.
If the GOP runs Christie they might just as well cancel the election....though in some sense, things are going to be so incredibly rotten by that point that maybe a hard-assed (not really) tough guy will be the real ticket grabber. I don’t know, I am a terrible predictor of these things. I *can* say that we have three more years of 0bama and nobody I know can predict what state (eg; condition) the country will be in after that time. Part of that is because the thought itself is so massively depressing.
IF AMERICA DISCOVERS the SANDY RELIEF DEBACLE connection....all bets are off as to the Chances of our having a REAL CRISIS!
This as far as I can determine deserves the LARGEST Public Protest Imaginable.
AMERICA will not wait One Year For Health Insurance Disbursemnets POLITELY!
this is TRULY staggering
good God..............words fail me
Institutionalized corruption.
Old friends ... this cozy deal has been going on for a long time.
I reckon Chris Christie got his cut, too.

It's a year later -- how critical can it be?!
Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Old sayings get to be old sayings because of their truth
Total corruption, without a drop of accountability.
Hard to believe that not one Republican is speaking out against the raping of American wealth. I don’t doubt that this is just the tip of the iceberg.
