Obama: GOP 'rooting' for ObamaCare failure By Elise Viebeck - 10/26/13 06:00 AM ET

President Obama blasted GOP opponents of his healthcare law as hypocrites after Republicans expressed concerns about the rocky rollout of HealthCare.gov.

In his weekly address, Obama suggested that the GOP's focus on the issue was in bad faith because Republicans have pushed for years to repeal, defund or dismantle ObamaCare.

Republicans "spent the last few years so obsessed with denying … people access to health insurance that they just shut down the government and threatened default over it," Obama said.

"It's well past the time for folks to stop rooting for [the law's] failure."

Obama's comments come after a tough week for the administration. HealthCare.gov, the online enrollment portal for ObamaCare coverage, remained mired in problems in its fourth week.

The rollout has drawn fire from Republicans and Democrats alike, including former members of the administration.

This week, Obama announced several steps to improve the system's functionality, including appointing former White House budget director Jeff Zients as a chief "fixer" for the site.

Federal health officials are also benefiting from a "tech surge" involving experts brought in to triage the sign-up process.

Republicans argue that the disastrous rollout of HealthCare.gov indicates that ObamaCare is unworkable and have promised tough oversight on the implementation stumbles.

Obama pushed back on Saturday, citing the law's more popular provisions and explaining the logic behind the insurance marketplaces.

The website "gathers insurers under one system to compete for your business," Obama said. "And that choice and competition have actually helped bring prices down."

Obama also described efforts to repair the enrollment process, urged frustrated users to try enrolling by telephone and vowed not to give up until the process is smooth.

"We're only a few weeks into a six-month open enrollment period, and everyone who wants insurance through the marketplace will get it," Obama said.

Thank you for the thoughtful reply, I will read the article you recommend.

But you must start reading the life of Washington, over and over, and start TODAY.

You have got to get over this notion that confidence comes from good things going your way..... IT'S THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

The founding of our nation by Washington et al., is so so unlikely, and the odds against them so astronomically great, but they sustained AND WON by their confidence, their optimism, and their faith in The Almighty.

And they were not ashamed to say so.

So must we be, and right now!

The GOP does not have to actively do a thing.

Au contraire. If the GOP thinks it can sit back and let the MSM and the Dems frame the disaster, they will lose the debate. The GOP will be blamed and what Obama and Sibelius are saying now is the harbinger of things to come. The GOP had better be proactive detailing each failure and misstep as the disaster unfolds and reminding the public that Obamacare was passed without one Rep vote.

All that had to be done to achieve this “marketplace” would be to allow insurance companies to advertise their rates openly— to compete for customers. Now as to the driving force— make sure the laws allow insurance to be sold across state lines, anywhere in the country. Third, if there is to be a “mandate”-— make the premiums paid for health insurance deductible just like they are for any company or corporation for their employees. Let individuals deduct the premium.

Remember when conumber credit card interest was deductible? Wrong thing to do . Get people insured and save them money doing it by deducting the premium— right thing to do.

But NOOOOO, we have to spend a billion dollars on an exchange listing run by the government (for those with internet connections btw) to introduce people to the private insurers-— an absolute idiotic idea, unless your goal is to break the system and put in total govt. healthcare. Which it is.

Obama is clueless

With all of the stuff that's gone wrong, I'm wondering just how far below average he is in intelligence. Look at what he's doing now. He has a disaster in Obamacare, which will probably get him ranked as the worst President in history (yeeah!). So what's he going to do? Go into away -from- DC speech mode again. Any real leader would stay in DC and supervise trying to fix this disaster, every step of the way.

It seems that when Obama has a real crisis, he just doesn't know how to go about problem solving. He wants to be the Wizard of Oz, and we all know where that story goes.

Okay. But that is how our government works. It is called checks and balances it is supposed to keep everyone honest.

Can we completely rely on the Democrats and the Democrat friendly press to tell the truth about Obamacare? Absolutely not!!!

I cant wait for that Shiite to happen here!

We’re not rooting for its failure, so much as were trying to hasten its obvious end result and get it over with.

Folks have “access” to health care, per 0bama’s definition
Folks do not have to buy insurance through the failed website/portal!!!

Folks can, and have, been going to their Broker to buy insurance.

If you qualify for a subsidy, you HAVE to use the website to cash in on the subsidy

Allow me to explain.

In the First American Revolution, there were three groups:

Loyalists, who wanted England to restore order;

Patriots, who would take up arms or actively support those who did to overthrow England, at the risk of their lives , property, freedom, and reputations;

Gloms, who really didn't care one way or another, but they just wanted their personal affairs to be improved over time, usually by the Path of Least Resistance. They would be just as happy if the improvement came from the State or the Crown, OR, if they did it themselves, but naturally they preferred not to exert themselves or put themselves at risk.

The three parties were roughly in a 1/3 --- 1/3 --- 1/3 composition.

You probably can take it from here, but, let me flesh it out for you.

The Loyalists are now the Stone Commies of Hollywood, DU, the Press, Soros, the Perfessers, and each and most of the people known as Democrats. They want us to die, and they want Communism installed in its classical formulation, with millions of dead (that's us BTW), and all the propaganda, parades, trimmings, etc., that we know well from having lived through the 20th Century.

The Patriots are us, those who are trying to rally one another on these forums and who would be willing to take the next steps, at greater and greater risk.

The Gloms are still the Gloms. They are so feckless and worthless that they call themselves everything from Patriot to Republican to Democrat to Conservative to Liberal to Progressive.

Basically they will go along with the zeitgeist or vogue or hip philosophy or Talking Point of the day or hour.

That is the game, and our exact strategy is not yet formed, but it would make a lot of sense to read about the First American Revolution in great detail in accounts by Mercy Otis Warren, et al., who documented the public arguments before, during and after the War.

Here is one possible strategy for today based on the strategies of the past:

Encourage the patriots by all means, but stress the philosophies of conservatism, constitutionalism, and free market economics, pointing out the miraculous performance of the United States when it strictly followed them, and form the central concept of FREEDOM, and attach it to the patriots.

Attack the Loyalists by all means, pointing out the fallacies and downright evil of their laws and form the central concept of TYRANNY, and attach it to the Loyalists.

The Gloms are important, contemptible as they may be.

Insofar as the Gloms can be made to identify with or convert to the Patriot cause, it will prevail. Likewise, getting the Gloms to find the Loyalist cause repulsive is important.

Shaming the Gloms a la Samuel Adams is a very effective strategy, and he and other pamphleteers did that.

The key to the Gloms is two-fold.

First, they don't like rancor, and they like plausible explanations, but they won't stick their necks out for any principle whatsoever. So all arguments must be civil and kind and not boil over (except for a few enforcer types like Coulter, who is funny).

Second, Gloms always see themselves, through the Retrospectoscope, as having been Patriots all along.

Fallacious as that thinking is, it goes way back, even before the time of Aesop. It is one of the pillars of human nature.

So getting them to identify and convert to the Patriot cause is of primary importance. You want them to think they are Patriots and then become Patriots.

Sorry about the length of the post.

So? What’s the big issue? oBamKare was designed to fail and oBam himself knows that. Though not this soon, of course. Still, wonderful politicking on Bamster’s part to attack the so-called opposition party for rooting for something he’s secretly rooting for himself. Machiavelli would just be so proud of Obama The Traitor.
