Washington Post political blogger Chris Cillizza has discovered President Barack Obamas biggest problem. It is fanatical Republican opposition to his agenda and a money-captured political system that gives a minority party a great deal of power to act on that opposition. Haha just kidding, no, its not that, its Jon Stewart. You know, the funny cable show talking guy. The one who does the jokes that you like.
What makes Stewart a problem is that he has been strongly criticizing/making funny jokes about the Obama administrations major healthcare #fail this week. Cillizza explains: Stewart dedicated the entire first 10 minutes of his show three full segments on Monday to slashing hits on the website and the presidents handling of the problems. Thats right, the entire first 10 minutes. Plus: He compared Obama to Gil, the hapless salesman from The Simpsons. Gil! That could cost Obama Ohio!
This is why it matters, according to Cillizza:
According to a 2012 Pew Research Center poll, The Daily Show has the second-largest share of young viewers aged 18-29 of any of the 24 media outlets tested.
That is indeed true, though media outlets should say news sources. (The source with the oldest audience: Hannity.) The Pew Report, though, does not say that The Daily Show is the exclusive source of news for more than a small subset of those young viewers. According to the same survey, nearly a third of the New York Times readers are 18-29. Heres another fact: The Daily Show averages 1 million to 2 million viewers per night. That is a small fraction of the population. It is a small fraction of the young population. And those 1 to 2 million viewers per night are mostly pretty liberal, and will remain pretty liberal.

Libs get their news from Comedy Central and SNL.
Yeah, this is a huge problem for the DNC.
Lol. The writer is certifiable.
Does it count if yo' mama's on Medicaid?
Liberals are truly insane..there isnt a mental hospital big enough to hold them all
The metrosexuality. It burns.
For what is is worth.
He is right.
They are losing their base.
Their base is/was themselves.
Narcissistic, self absorbed, individuals that thought this stuff would not affect them personally.
They thought the “rich” would pay for this train wreck.
This is an extraordinary time in our history.
Will the zombie idealists step up and literally volunteer to take the personal economic hit for the “Greater Good”?
Not going to happen.
This is going to be fun to watch.
Yes, the author is insane. But he is sadly correct in the main aspect. Jon Leibowitz is probably quite right of the brain dead parasitic base of the Democratic party. And I don’t expect them to wake up, Obama-deathcare or not. I think the disease is terminal at this point.
Stewart is a flaming lefty
I guess he is getting his media obedience training now
I don’t believe Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz has a problem with Obamaocare itself; it’s just that he, like millions of other Americans of all political persuasions, does not like the website rollout. As they say, only government could screw something up this poorly.
When it all comes crashing down, they will no doubt bite the hands that once fed them.
It will come down the effectiveness of the “propaganda” that is soon to follow.
The young and healthy idealist will simple pay the penalty/tax.
They will demand more government sending to support the “disadvantaged”.
They will not participate directly if they can help it.
And many of them will be unable to see the hypocrisy of their own self interest, as they rationalize an ever expanding government.
The insecure will demand money from the secure. They will demand that they have a right to be stupid.
LOL. has South Park done a metrosexual episode yet? They should.
Probably. But you’re right, if they haven’t, they sure should.
We are talking about people that are fundamentally unable to understand or extend the logic of their own positions.
“Tax the rich, feed the poor, till there are, rich no more”.
And then what ?
Oopps !!
The logical expression of short sighted feel good policies will not stop them until it affects them “personally”.
That's not exactly true.
Only if mommy and daddy can afford to keep adult kiddo on their policy. Many can't afford to do that.
Only if mommy and daddy want to keep adult kiddo on their policy and believe an adult kiddo up to age 26 should still be supported by mommy and daddy. Not everyone believes in that either.
So, no, they are not "automatically covered".
Long ago. :-)
