I would have no problem cutting anyone some slack who in their heart of hearts intended to do something beneficial but when it failed, were honest enough to admit it and then listen to those who suggested a different path.

A case in point would be Bob Beckel on FOX who takes the usual Progressive lies and digs in his heals even after proven failure, BUT, on one occasion, he showed a sliver of honesty when he admitted the war on poverty had been a complete failure.

He actually said they thought the War On Poverty would help but in actuality it hurt millions after spending trillions.

SHAZZZZZAM! If only such honesty would be the norm instead of the exception we might have less vitriol in this country.

The problem I have with guys like Bob Beckel who might show a “sliver of honesty”, is that there is no inclination to even slightly turn away from his party’s failure.

They really can’t admit that even though they intended good they caused harm,

because they hang their hope of salvation on those intents.
