Thanks Tammy, and that article proves my point.

The first sentence tells you all you need to know. It isn't the "Army", it isn't systematic. They are loners in the military going rogue.

I'm a military curriculum developer, and somewhat familiar with how training is done, and this didn't pass the smell test. That doesn't mean I wouldn't call your Congressman; I just would not get caught up in hyperbole like many do here.

Well.... not exactly. The lists used are not approved in military lists because the military doesn’t have lists of terrorist-leaning organizations. Instead, they have an approved list of other people who list terrorist organizations, and one of the groups on that approved list is the Southern Poverty Law Center, which labels anybody who supports traditional marriage as terrorist-leaning.

So the military leaves it up to people to look at non-military lists like the SPLC list, and then when their people use that approved SPLC resource the military can always say the claims weren’t taken from military materials. The SPLC acts as a front company for the military so the military can say their hands are clean.

That is what this article said. The military folks responded to this issue because a bunch of Congressmen got wind of what was happening and made a stink. The military response was that it wasn’t their materials. And it never will be their materials; they will always just send people to the SPLC to get their lists, and the military will keep acting outraged and deny that their official approval of the SPLC as a source for terrorist labels has anything to do with what is happening in multiple places at multiple times.

They will hire people like you to write the “official” line, as a fig leaf, but will refer instructors to the SPLC and accomplish the same thing without getting their hands dirty. Plausible deniability.

While I believe they are loners to an extent, I also believe what they are teaching is being allowed and possibly even condoned or it would not keep happening... I don’t think it is policy, but just that attitude is being tolerated and somewhat rewarded or would not have happened but once...

Do not forget the watch list the Department of Homeland Security had that included Christians and others that in no way should have been included on a list like that.

It may not be governmental or military policy but done with wink and nod or even verbal approval from above.

At what point does hyperbole become reality? With this administration it is easy to believe there is more to most things than what we are told and especially more than is being documented.
