Ted Cruz Won
PJ Media's Rule of Law ^ | October 23, 2013 | J. Christian Adams

Posted on 10/23/2013 8:19:53 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

It has become clear after the government shutdown that if Obamacare isn’t destroyed now, it will be with us forever. Waiting until after a series of elections to try to kill it is a fool’s errand. There will never be more support for ending Obamacare than there will be in the next few months. Once the dependency class hooks up their Obamacare IV, it’s game over.

Let’s inventory how Texas Senator Ted Cruz won territory in the government shutdown fight.

First, the Left knows victories are won through the fight. This is the core of the new Alinskyite model of the Left — continuous agitation, continuous fundraising, continuous energy. The fight builds support and support builds the fight.

The Cruz-led fight over the last few weeks has done the same thing for conservatives. Cruz strengthened the fight against Obamacare because he exposed the insider D.C. establishment in a way nobody else has. True, polls show that Americans have a lower opinion of the Republican Party after the fight. But many of those with a lower opinion are regular conservative Americans who saw the establishment members of the GOP turn and bolt in the face of the fight. Over two million signed a petition supporting Cruz. That’s a heck of an email list, generated almost overnight.

Deal-making and compromise have pushed the country toward fiscal catastrophe. Only Cruz and his supporters stood fast, and Americans noticed....

They’re not “loose”.

They’re bound by their own stupidity, greed, and cowardice.

Hopefully, they’ll lose.

Before this is over, Cruz will look like a Biblical Prophet.

The Obamacare website disaster won. BOOM!

And I was sure that the remainder of this year would be gloomy, Dems gloating, GOP attacking each other.

The website moved in for the kill.

I don’t know, I think that as long as the surrender caucus holds sway, it doesn’t matter whether republicans or dems hold the Senate or the House.

There’s just not a noticeable difference.

"Some in the GOP think they can win a couple of elections over the next few years and unravel the program once the GOP gains the White House.  This ignores the shrinking attention span of the body politic... the Republican Party seems unable to grasp the ground game of the new Left.  The Left changes the narrative in the short term and ends up winning long term.   Compromise is never the game."

Great point.

People just won’t vote for someone they’ve never heard of, and one cannot become known unless he has the money to spend to allow the sheeple to become acquainted with you. And then the sheeple may not like you after you do all that for them.

Ted can’t won squat, according to Bob Schieffer, until John McPain and Lindsey Graham say he has.

This is the core of the new Alinskyite model of the Left — continuous agitation, continuous fundraising, continuous energy. The fight builds support and support builds the fight.

This is a self defeating strategy. Continuous campaigning and agitation leaves no time for governing. And governing is the ultimate measure of success.

The blue team can't govern and the red team can't campaign.

They should go to court to overturn Obama’s delay decree. Since it’s a dispute between the other two branches, I believe the Supreme Court may have original jurisdiction.

And that’s why I’m feeling a bit ‘curfuddled’. I prefer to just put my nose down and work the issue, but either we are beyond hope or we just need some folks to fix it and screw the politics. Someone said glass half full or half empty - I think we’re at the line on if we can head the right direction. I’m not an attention seeker but I can give a speech and put a team together with a set of goals. I can explain myself and I’m down to earth, but I refuse to promise things not in my power or inappropriate. I do appreciate the matter of fact response you gave me as it is similar to my own mental argument going for some time.

This is just excellent commentary that lets out enough rope to the GOP-e (establishment) for them to go hang themselves. Here are the money parts:

“Some in the GOP were annoyed by Ted Cruz leading the fight to defund Obamacare. They claimed that if Cruz didn’t muddy up the debate, the failures of Obamacare would have been cleanly on display during the program’s rollout. Right.”

“The failures have only gotten worse now that the shutdown is over.”

“So have at it. Show us you’re right.”

“The failures of Obamacare couldn’t be worse. Obamacare has become a punch line, a joke, a catastrophic catastrophe, squared. So have at it. Prove that a shutdown-less environment could lead to killing off the program. Go win the narrative you said you could win.”

But we may learn that the Cruz-led fight focused the nation on the failures of Obamacare in a way that no pundit or consultant can match. If the Cruz-less narrative fails to win the field and end Obamacare, then Cruz wins yet again.”

But there is a downside which is how many will read PJ Media? Better still how many lawmakers and their consultants will read PJ Media?

Do it. I am also thinking of throwing my hat in the ring. If you lose, at least you tried.

The way to look at it, throughout history, if you love your job, it’s not a job. If you are in love with change you think necessary, your candidacy and office-holder will be your quest, and you should do it. If you feel called, it’s because you are being called.

It’s bad enough for the Democrats that the website is quarked. But do they really want to fix it? I mean, if they fix it, then they will have to deal with the outrage when millions of people get their deductibles and premiums jacked up. In the meantime, millions cannot sign up, millions are going to lose their policies, and both groups are being threatened with fines. How much better can it get?

Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think that at this point, the public has only one effective way to end Obamacare and that involves a massive boycott of the entire health care system. If millions of patriots just suspend their participation in the health care system, the system will be forced to come to terms with that loss of business. I know that some people believe that it would be a personal hardship to boycott the health care system, but I think they might be surprised to learn that their health will improve and that they will actually live longer and happier lives without doctors. They may never want to go back.

The other thing is that it is a mistake to attack just Obamacare. The attack should be against all government involvement in our health care system. There needs to be a demand for repeal of all government health care, including Obamacare, Medicaid and Medicare. It's too hard to argue that some people should be on the dole, but not others. The government should be kicked out of all areas of our health care system. And, after we kick the government out, we should go after the big insurance companies. Then, costs will go down, way down.
