If the Legislature is only to do what the people supposedly want, then why have a Legislature? Why not go to a straight democracy? I thought the point of a our system was to fight against the mob when needed, and do what was right? /rhetorical

No. No he’s not. He’s doing what his donors want. Business owners in CA want it because it lowers wages. Who can blame them, they are so persecuted here. The rest of us are making plans to leave the state.
