According to Chris Matthews, conservatives have gone from wanting to kidnap babies to "killing" them. On October 1, the Hardball anchor insisted that Barack Obama "will not give up his baby" to pro-shutdown conservatives such as Ted Cruz. On Tuesday, still angry over the partial-government closure, the anchor fumed, "Today and in the future, Cruz will be remembered as the one who ignited the fire of government shutdown and general political mayhem."
Matthews added, "He'll go down in history as the Mrs. O'Leary's cow of the 2013 disaster." According to the liberal journalist, the "thug" Republican senator from Texas thinks "we're going to bring down the government if you don't do things our way" and "we're going to kill your baby ObamaCare, unless you give us the government." [See video below. MP3 audio here.] Perhaps members of the rabidly pro-abortion party shouldn't be throwing around such terms?
Matthews then complained about Cruz's countenance: "His personality, his mien, the way he speaks on television -- I think it's pretty frightening to people because it has that evangelical edge of fire and brimstone."
Again speaking for Cruz, he imagined, "I'll bring down this temple if I have to, but I'm getting my way."
Appearing on the October 1 Today, Matthews berated, "The President was elected reelected again. He won this fight over health care....the President will not give up his baby."

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Let Me Start tonight with this: I will always tell people that you only get one reputation in life. Someone should have told the Republicans that. Today, their name is mud. Actually, it's worse. It's Ted Cruz. Today and in the future, Cruz will be remembered as the one who ignited the fire of government shutdown and general political mayhem. He'll go down in history as the Mrs. O'Leary's cow of the 2013 disaster, the one guilty of kicking over the ladder that caused all the damage, who single-handedly, or single-footedly turned the Grand Old Party into the "burn down the house" party, leveling it down to the lowest level of public approval in its history. Just got that figure today. Ed Rendell is the former governor of Pennsylvania and an MSNBC -- actually, an NBC political analyst, and Jonathan Capehart is an opinion writer for "The Washington Post" and an MSNBC contributor, as well.
There was more bad news for the Republican Party today, as I said, with new polls showing just how lousily they are viewed after this shutdown. As Dan Balz wrote about it, in the new "Washington Post"/ABC News poll, "There is little in the findings in this poll for the GOP to feel good about." You think? Just 32 percent of the public, about less than a third, has a favorable view of the Republican Party. That's an all-time low in that poll. Fifty-three percent say Republicans in Congress were chiefly responsible for the shutdown.
...
MATTHEWS:. And the person of this political thuggery, I call it, because it really is extortion and, 'we're going to bring down the government if you don't do things our way,' and 'we're going to kill your baby ObamaCare, unless you give us the government, basically. My question is to Ted Cruz. His personality, his mien, the way he speaks on television -- I think it's pretty frightening to people because it has that evangelical edge of fire and brimstone -- 'I'll bring down this temple if I have to, but I'm getting my way.'
That would be Chris and Barack’s love child.
Someone needs to put this guy in a straight jacket and haul his @ss off already!
Actually it’s Obama who said he didnt want his daughters “Punished” with a baby..its the Rat party that is pro baby murder..they have a candidate running in Texas who would abort 10 yr olds if she had the chance
Hey Chris, up your meds.
So is it OK if Ted crushes ObamaCare’s skull with a forceps? I thought Chris was good with that.
Prissy still off his rocker I see.
Good idea to refer to ObamaCare as a baby. It's a mindless, self-centered monster that only produces noise from one end and a steady stream of stink from the other end, without doing anything useful. Unlike a real human baby though, ObamaCare will never provide a return on all the effort it absorbs, just continue generating waste until it finally dies.
“Aw Hell muthaf—ing naw dawg! I know my n-word Chris did’t go thurr! Punk @ss Cruz do be trippin!”
of the two, the President is clearly the thug...
Chris Matthews - what a tool!
It’s more like Obama’s Belomor Canal, a fiasco from the start that never served its original purpose but had to be finished anyway to save face, and whose banks are lined with the bones of thousands of slave laborers sacrificed to make Stalin look good.
In Christian circles, when you feel that way when someone is preaching, it means that you are feeling convicted. God is prompting you to turn from your wicked ways.
That's why Matthews feels uncomfortable. Darkness cannot stand light.
” ... Ted Cruz. His personality, his mien, the way he speaks on television — I think it’s pretty frightening to people because it has that evangelical edge of fire and brimstone ...”

*sigh*
these people
CC
Trayvon be already dead, and I doubt Cruz would hurt Sasha or Malia, they didn't do anything and they have to live with the guy as it is.
NOTE: Inhaling Chris Matthews fumes can cause stupidity, leg tingles, and in some cases, death. If you've been in contact with Matthews-fumes, immediately read Sarah Palin's tweets and tune in Mark Steyn's show.
We actually have quite the dilemma here. A large and powerful corporation namely General Electric have employed a mentally disturbed individual as a broadcast host. I think there would be an FCC regulation preventing this.
What he MEANT to say (or at least if he wanted to be correct) was this:
“Today and in the future, Cruz will be remembered as the one who ignited the fire of government shutdown and general political restoration.
He'll go down in history as the one who tried to stop the destruction caused by Mrs. O’Leary’s cow of the 2013 Obamacare disaster. The one who tried to stop the of kicking over the ladder that caused all the damage, who single-handedly, turned the Grand Old Party into a place where Americans could be proud once again when he stood up to the bullies in control of the White Haus, the Senate and the Media.”
There. Fixed it.
