I’m thinking more along the lines of a mortician!
The Opportunity Costs for Obamacare are going to be staggering. People will pay the penalties/taxes and then the economy will take another hit as that money is not used to purchase goods and services in the private sector. Employees in the private sector PRODUCE tax money. Government employees CONSUME tax money. If you want to provide more money for government, produce more private sector jobs. Put a freeze on hiring more federal employees. Reduce taxes so people have money to spend in the private sector. Yes, it is a hard balancing act. This administration has no balance and they are tipping us into some real trouble.
They had a billion dollars and almost three years to set up an exchange. If they truly wanted to facilitate a marketplace where insurance providers competed for your money, they could have done it. It could have been good and it could have been successful...by creating a true marketplace.
But that wasn’t their goal. Instead of a free enterprise system, they wanted to force insurers and force consumers into an inefficient, bureaucratic, personal information petri dish. Now you give them more intrusive insight into your personal life, pay them more money, and enter into a system which is already failing...and you do it voluntarily. It’s the greatest government scam to ever exist.
Now, instead of having to get a warrant to intrude into your personal life (a la Bill of Rights), all they have to do is log into a government website to get the information they want.
