The day Corey Feldman met Corey Haim, when they were 14 years old and preparing to work together on the film The Lost Boys, they bonded instantly. Both were young Jewish actors who often competed for the same roles. They shared a first name and even a favorite number, sort of. Haims was 222. Feldmans was 22. As they spoke, it became clear that they also shared horrific histories of abuse. Haim confided in his new friend that on the set of the 1986 film Lucas, an adult male convinced him that it was perfectly normal for older men and younger boys in the business to have sexual relations, that it was what all the guys do. So they walked off to a secluded area between two trailers . . . and Haim allowed himself to be sodomized.

That’s a horrific read. I’m going to go hug my kids and cry a little bit now....
“It’s just about love.”
“Well, as a liberal, I’d like to say that it was horrific that Corey Feldman was abused by the Catholic Church. That shows what a disgusting organization that is. They should be investigated, mocked, and brought down.”
“What’s that? You say he was abused in Hollywood? Oh, I’m sure it was just one or two bad apples. Oh, you say his friend was abused too? And other former child actors say it’s common? Um...well...uh...can we talk about something else now?”
I know a nine year old kid who just got cast on a pretty popular tv show. she’s cute as a button, and this makes me terrified for her.
Horrifying.
You should be. The arts community is morally crippled. They eat you alive and spit out the remains. Child stars and women have the hardest time of it. They’re liberals, so that’s to be expected.
This is the kind of world liberals want our children to see as normal, at least for those not restrained by old-fashioned notions of right and wrong. I would venture to say about half the kids today probably agree.
No wonder they were so screwed up. Sad.
S.O.P. for the Hollywood crowd.
It’s worse for those attractive and even not so attractive men and women who work behind the scenes, need the jobs and money, but don’t have the star power to protect them.
Name names Corey.
Kids are being abused right now.
Very sad article though. Sheds a different light on Michael Jackson.
There's a very vivid scene in The Godfather - the book, not the movie - that backs up what you say.
The Jack Woltz character is a pedophile.
Michael Jackson was one of the bigger child stars who was in the biz from the time he was 8 years old.
Now you know why MJ was so screwed up sexually.
I was shattered, disgusted, devastated. I needed some normalcy in my life. So, I called Michael Jackson, he writes.
And compared to the rest of the crap in that kid's life, Jackson was normal. That speaks volumes right there.
The temptation to use a broad brush is a bit difficult to resist, but I think it isn't entirely unfair to state that Hollywood worships and envies youth with a fervor that is at the least ephebophilic in fantasy and very easily becomes so in fact.
The adults want to be youths and the youths want to be adults - that's natural enough - but it is the adults who have the power to exploit the relationship and the responsibility for restraint. In this degraded age and that decadent culture there is no restraint, but there is plenty of exploitation.
The cultural trend is very much in the direction of lowering the age of consent to puberty - "intergenerational" sex, if you please. Only a conservative or a bigot could be against that, right? Qui bono? The youth? Why, of course, in theory, it's all part of mentoring...only in fact it's nothing of the sort, they're used as Haim and Feldman were and tossed like used Kleenex when the next vulnerable target appears. It isn't innocent, it isn't friendly, it isn't mentoring or career-building, it's cruel and destructive and disgusting.
Much has been said recently regarding the "rehabilitation" of Roman Polanski for offenses very much in the pattern I've described, much disdain for the notion the the fellow ought to be held responsible, much creeping innuendo that it's the sort of a thing a Great Artist ought to be allowed to do. The girl turned into a strong woman who did not let it ruin her life, and so all should be forgiven, yes?
No. Because there is always another girl or boy waiting whose life will be destroyed.
I’ve read the book and I know the part. The book is fiction but apparently Mario Puzo knew what was going in hollywood. In the book it was the Mother who brought her daughter to Woltz so Wolz could molest the daughter. Sick.
Name names is exactly right. What does he have to lose at this point?
There are a few child stars who now are “gay” as adults. What happened to the Corey’s has me thinking similar happened to these now “gay” adults
