DADE CITY -- Two women found themselves in some trouble after they took longer than expected to complete an obstacle course race this weekend.
Deputies said Brianna Lake, 26, and Christina Clemons, 28, were among the thousands of people participating in the Savage Race, a five-mile event full of obstacles and mud.
The problem? Deputies said the women, who are domestic partners, brought their 7-year-old daughter with them and left her alone as they headed off onto the course.
Deputies said it took Lake and Clemons five hours to finish the race. During that time, deputies said race officials found the girl by herself and made several announcements over the loud speaker.
The two women later told deputies they did hear Clemons' name called over the PA system, but they ignored it because they were having fun.
When Lake and Clemons were finally located, deputies put them under arrest for child neglect. According to the arrest report, Lake said, "We did not believe it would take so long. I knew we would be in trouble."
They also told deputies they originally made arrangements for a friend to watch the little girl while they competed, but that the friend never showed up.
Deputies said they still decided to participate because they already paid for it and figured the girl would be okay with "all the cops around."
Both women are facing charges of child neglect.

of course there is the spiritual element, as well and that is even more important, but just speaking clinically here, I think disordered/narcissistic/immaturity describes it pretty well.

Since they are apparently homosexual, that is their excuse. It is homophobic to have them face any charges. It’s probably racist too given their complexions. But, since they are members of an officially recognized liberal grievance group, they have an excuse to do things the rest of us aren’t allowed to get away with (sarcasm)

The charge should have been “Child Endangerment”.
The child was one minute away from being kidnapped or killed.
