“And probably 470,000 of the 476,000 are wholly-subsidized applicants. Yeah, this is going to lower health costs.”
Remember all those fast-food workers on strike? I don’t doubt they are all subsidized for this; people who make more will pay their own way, plus the insurance for a McDonalds worker.
So, what the article is basically saying is that 476,000 people have submitted the personal information that is necessary to even find out what the various Fubocare plans will cost them and the coverage those plans will give them.
And they have to wait for government approval before they can get the information that they really want to see.
That’s like a car dealership running a credit check on a customer before they will let you into the showroom.
What they really need to do is give all the cost and coverage information up front with a disclaimer that prices will be lower if you qualify for a subsidy, with general information about the income levels that determine that qualification.
If a person thinks he is qualified, THEN he can submit his information and the government can then make that determination and respond with an accurate quote.
But, of course, that would make it harder for the government to lie about the success of King Fubo’s signature legislative achievement.
