I got out of jury duty when I was breastfeeding. I haven’t been called back since even though my youngest is a teen. The judge didn’t use good judgment. Someone needs to explain to him the meaning of the word judge.

In 1981 I got called for jury duty in PA. Sent back the jury form saying I was breatfeeding. Got excused with no problem.

We either do not know the whole story or the judge is (fill in the blank).
Every time I have been called for jury duty I had the option for a one time postponement, and then once I am in the court room one of the first questions the judge asked is if anyone has a reason they will not be able to serve.
I am willing to bet that a mother breast feeding her baby would be dismissed from serving jury duty.
Perhaps her best bet would have been to just ignore the jury summons. I don’t think I have ever heard of anyone ever being arrested for not answering a jury summons, perhaps it happens, but I have never heard of it happening.

Breast-feeding good.
Jury duty while breast-feeding bad
Breast-feeding woman good
Ignorant judge bad

They wouldn’t grant an exemption for a nursing mother? Pricks.

Good gosh this Judge could of used some common sense instead of ordering her arrested. That judge is a total douche bag! Here in Texas mothers caring for small children are exempt from jury duty period! My county which is hardly a leader in implementing modern IT has an automated system that allows people check in online and fill out all the information that used to be entered on paper forms when showing up for the first morning of jury duty. In addition anyone who is exempt from jury duty can log into that system and check the appropriate box onscreen and submit the reason for the exemption online without ever having to travel to the county courthouse!

Common sense would dictate treating men an women differently, yet feminists have convinced women of the opposite. Thus, we get to this point.

Jackson County, Missouri
Excuses from Jury Service:
All citizens are obligated to take part in seeing that justice is done. Therefore, only legal excuses provided by law should be presented. In general these include:
Illness, or presence required at home
Personal hardship
Emergency
Served on jury duty (on actual trial of a case) in this court in last two (2) years
Over the age of 65 years and you desire to claim this personal exemption
http://www.co.jackson.ms.us/officials/circuit-clerk/jury-duty.php
She should fall under the personal hardship exemption.
IIRC, last time I was called, in Texas, the exemption was kids under 12 years old because that’s the state regs on leaving kids home alone.

Government has grossly abused its power. It is using its power to detain people who have not committed a crime. Willfully impotent in the fight against true crime, it has turned against innocent, law-abiding citizens because they will not fight back.
