Docs worried sick over ObamaCare
The New York Post ^ | October 18, 2013 | Carl Campanile

New York doctors are feeling queasy about ObamaCare — and many won’t participate in the new national insurance program because they fear they’ll go broke, The Post has learned.

“ObamaCare is going to send me more patients to see and then cut the payments to provide the care — that’s what’s going to happen,” predicted Donald Moore, a primary-care doctor in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. “I will not accept it.”

Moore claims that President Obama made a big mistake by requiring uninsured residents to obtain medical coverage from for-profit insurers through the ObamaCare health exchanges instead of through public health programs like Medicaid.

Under tremendous pressure to keep costs down and profits up, Moore said he’s concerned that commercial insurers will pay doctors less for patient visits and services than either Medicaid or Medicare.

Many doctors, he argues, won’t be able to cover their costs with such skimpy fees.

Moore scoffed, “Who’s going to sustain the losses? The insurance companies? It’s basically going to be a race to the bottom.”(continued)

This is all true, and it will get increasingly worse. This is what happens when you elect an empty suit so full of himself, someone having no grasp of the reality of life or how the system operates. Prez Zippy thinks he just waves his magic wand and riches will flow out of his butt to be showered upon the masses. Well, we all know what flows out of his butt and that he has dumped all over this country with his lies, empty promises and destruction. Impeach this clown.

I don’t drink, smoke, or ever use drugs and am in my early forties and some inheritable things that were tolerable are getting tougher to deal with and I am on a merry go round of medical visits. I am trying to get what I can handled before things go totally to hell for me health wise.

I asked a few of my docs if they’ll be around next year to treat me.

Answer: “I don’t know.”

The only one who gave a definite yes is the one who has 2 kids in expensive colleges.

“You’re terrified that everyone will ACTUALLY LIKE IT!!!”

I’m now seeing cars with “I LOVE [BO]CARE” or “I LIKE [BO]CARE” bumper stickers.

It’s a weird, sick, ongoing campaign. They’ve received their talking points.

Correct me if I’m wrong or if my memory fails me, but I don’t remember having seen bumper stickers advocating gov’t health insurance when Clinton was in office. There might have been some “single payer” stickers here and there in times since, but not associated with the time he was in office.

I think we are in the same boat. Except for the drinking part. I tend to do that a bit more nowadays. Isn’t that what people in communist states are supposed to do to take the edge off the socialism?

“You can keep your doctor, (if they aren’t bankrupt)”

“You can keep your insurance plan, (if they haven’t cancelled you or tripled your premiums)”

The added bonus of being the best jobs killer ever conceived and Unconstitutional should thrill libtards.

both my knees had to be replaced and I had to have quadruple bypass open heart surgery with a valve repair when I was 63. Both of them due to genetic maladies I inherited from my parents, according to my doctors.

Is it fair to say that the intense physical exertion you engaged in might have made both these conditions worse or made them occur earlier in life than they might have otherwise? I am not trying to place blame; just emphasizing your point that exercise is not always a slam-dunk for good health. Certainly not extreme intensity exercise.

I went to one of those Doc-in-a-box clinics and they took three chest x-rays, with the radiologist saying each time “something’s there!”.
Finally the doctor diagnosed me with six months to live.
I admitted having no insurance, or money, so he gave me from 10-30 years. More or less.

Exactly!! that is what I was thinking. Now all they can do is bend over because Obama is going to shove a Obamacare suppository.

I think our doctor probably voted for ob0zo. He said to my husband back when obozo care was first discussed “it will be good for you and good for me”.

I wonder if he still feels that way. I saw him a few weeks ago and he didn't bring it up, I was hoping he would.

He is an excellent doctor and I would hate to lose him.

i know leftism isn't a pre-req for being a Dr cause my last doc, now retired, was an Air Force doctor, my current doc is in the Army reserve and has been to Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq, neither voted for this POS but i'd bet most of those whining now did...

i hope they get the pleasure being shafted as bad as those of us that didn't vote for it

you should ask him, in the most casual way of course so's not to actually rub his nose in it, how 0bamacre is working out for him and if he will accept it if you change from your present plan to 0care?

So if you need a hip replacement that costs 75k, and your deductible is 5k, that’s the margin, so pay up or no hip.
By the middle of next year, people on 0-care will really feel the pinch. <<

yeah...if the panels are fair....But with all the exceptions and discretion given the Sec. of HHS I expect it to be run like the IRS did on 501c’s with TEA Party members, Conservatives and republicans being the only ones that will actually have to pay up front......No more Equal Justice for all....

Yes, I was being sarcastic. We will all need quality healthcare during our later years. I hope it’s there for all of us.

No, it is not “fair to say” that my healthy lifestyle caused these conditions to occur earlier than they might otherwise. Quite the opposite. Both my orthopedic doctor, who did my knees and my cardiac surgeon, who did my heat surgery, told me my family history played the biggest part in me having the same problems as my parents. By exercising and taking care of myself my whole adult life, they told me I managed to delay the onset of the problems, rather than them occurring sooner.

My dad had both of his knees replaced at age 60 and he never ran a day in his life or exercised. He started having heart problems in his 60’s too, as did his dad before him. Lifestyle has little to do with some medical problems. My wife is a thin, healthy 105 lbs and is in great physical shape. She eats a healthy diet like a bird but has high cholesterol. Why? Not because of her lifestyle and eating habits but because her whole family has high cholesterol. It runs in her family. Some of these conditions are unavoidable. They’re caused from the genes you’re born with. Some folks are just blessed with better genes than others.

Dr. Atlas will shrug.

Oh boy what an openly stinking piece of ordure this Obamacare is increasingly being day by day!

Keep it up, Obamacare. Be the huge monument to evil you are!

My proctologist stubbornly refuses to accept Obamacare. But he's always been anal-retentive.

A while back, I was strolling past a San Francisco marina. One of the boats caught my eye, being named the Impacted Gerbil. There was guy working on it, so I asked him if it was his boat. He said yes, and I asked about the name. He laughed and said he was a proctologist and decided to name the boat in honor of what paid for it.
