The freemason bit... well America wasn't founded with a state religion for good reason, but that doesn't mean it was formed without Divine Providence. The Declaration states that
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
Doesn't mean the Founders were of "perfect" theology or didn't have their flaws. The nature of any free state is that it is nonetheless operated by humans who will corrupt it over time. The Founders were endowed with the wisdom to design a free republic that would thwart the worst of human nature for as long as possible. There's the Providence aspect.
So if what the husband reports is true - that his wife didn't know what she was going to say until she said it, and that they didn't have any particular discussions about freemasons in the past - then what she said is what she said. Seems like the point was that the Republic was flawed from the beginning, and what we see currently ultimately derives from that. Not really any argument against that - same for all human governments.
Yet, America has acknowledged the work and blessings of the Creator throughout her existence, and even the most corrupt (ahem) presidents still ask for God to bless America. Yet as the stenographer (scribe!) pronounced, "God will not be mocked".
Mark 13:11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
