First term Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Texas, represents Texas 20th congressional district, made up of the western half of San Antonio and Bexar County. The district reflects the 64 percent Latino population in San Antonio. Castro and his twin brother, Julian, the mayor of San Antonio, are considered rising stars in the Democratic Party. ....
Castro shared his thoughts on what Texans are now thinking about the Republican junior senator, whose father is originally from Cuba.
During the government shutdown and now with the possibility of defaulting on the debt, Texans have realized his role and how extreme his voice is in Congress. People understand that he was the cause of the government shutdown. The impact on Texans has been devastating, said Castro, who is of Mexican descent. ....
Texas has the highest percentage of people without insurance at 25 percent, and 38 percent of Latinos in Texas dont have health coverage. The governor and the Republican (controlled) Legislature have been completely tone deaf to that. I have worked with local agencies to make sure that the Affordable Care Act rollout is as successful as possible. We have been working with local agencies and local groups to sign up as many people as possible. We will continue to press Governor Perry and the Legislature to expand Medicaid, Castro said.

I dont think theyll be able to read all of those regulations, Castro replied when CNSNews.com asked him whether the American people should have to read the thick stack of regulations implementing the Affordable Care Act.
Senator Cruz will - of course - be offered a chance to respond.
Stick a fork into the Cornyn toaster.
From the Alamo City we also got Cornyn and Cisneros .
Castro’s mother is a big La Raza activist. That’s all we need to know about the Castro clan. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
It figures this guy would say something like that.
Rep. Joaquin Castro.....just who is the extreme? Sickening!!!
Joaquin Castro and his twin brother Julian are racist a-holes...
“D-Texas”
There ought to be a law...
Is that Fidel’s twin sister?
It’s nuts.
It’s as if Fidel Castro and a cabal of illegal immigrant members of La Raza took over an entire district and turned it into a foreign-aligned city state. San Antonio this year barred any religious individual from serving in the city government. Clearly unconstitutional, yet NOBODY has filed a court case as I can tell. Where is the Texas AG on this travesty? San Antonio should be squeezed till its illegal occupiers squeal.
intelligent Texans thank their lucky stars a fearless patriot like Ted Cruz has stepped forward . Someone willing to tell the truth and not knuckle under to the Alinskyite tactics that are being spread far and wide .
Alinskyites belong in camps . From the top to bottom
Why is it necessary to point out that this Castro is of Mexican ancestry? Both he and that other Castro from Cuba can both STFU!
Somehow I doubt that commie buttwipes like Joaquin speak for very much of Texas.
“...the Castros are indoctrinated by the “Brown” version of Black Liberation Theology.”
I have no doubt in my mind if there was another Mexican-American war, San Antonio led by these two knuckleheads would join Mexico.
Wow! That’s extreme liberalism even for Northeast standards. What’s going on there Texas?
Geez! I would have expected that from Oakland or even Vermont.
They say that Castro is Mexican and Cruz is Cuban because Mexicans hate Cubans. They don’t mention that Cruz’ mother is Mexican. They don’t want Mexicans to know that Cruz is part Mexican.
Quote from article: “he was the cause of the government shutdown”

The sad truth is, this is exactly what the majority of the American public believe.
That Cruz and his fellow right wing extremists caused all the “pain”.
I don’t know how we can move past the absurd mindset of the majority.
Maybe it is because I had a bad day, but I don’t think our Republic can recover and right this ship.
