The Arab invasion of Israel in 1948 was nothing less than an attempted genocide. Had they defeated the IDF, the Arabs would have slaughtered every Jew that they would have gotten their hands on. The Great Powers would have allowed it to happen, also. Both the British and U.S. navies had plans to evacuate Israelis. I believe Divine intervention prevented that. The IDF had 60,000 members, of whom only 22,000 had firearms of any kind. The Arabs had over 100,000. The IDF had no armored vehicles of any kind, the Arabs had several dozens. The IDF had 8 artillery pieces, the Arabs had more than 100. The Arabs had several squadrons of combat aircraft, the IDF had none. Although the Arabs were grossly incompetent, and that has to be acknowledged, there is no doubt God was defending His people. The testimony of Arabs seeing angelic beings hovering over Israeli positions are many, and cannot be the mere ravings of superstitious fellahin.
