In doing so, he proclaimed that he wanted to push forward with other legislative priorities, including a budget, immigration reform, and the long-stalled pork-laden farm bill. “[I]n the coming days and weeks, we should sit down and pursue a balanced approach to a responsible budget, a budget that grows our economy faster and shrinks our long-term deficits further,” Obama stated. Boehner wants to cave on Amnesty. All establishment Republicans want to be dragged, kicking and screaming, into supporting Amnesty. The only question is, can the rank and file scare him enough to keep him from caving?

They don’t oppose amnesty because they don’t have to live among the ruins that illegals leave in their wake. They are safe in DC or in their gated communities when they finally return home. Who cares about the “little people” anyway?

The trick is the amendment process...lets say a continuing spending resolution bill comes before the senate having originated in the house....Reid attaches an immigration bill to its version and sends it back to the house. The house refuses the senate bill and sends just the continuing resolution spending plan back to the senate. Reid threatens to shut the government down again unless the spending bill has an immigration bill attached to it. See how it’s going to work now?
Calling and writing and emailing does absolutely no good. In the end tey’re going to do what they want to do. If we keep writing and calling it will make them think they can still get our votes. So, they’ll tag us along for awhile then “Sorry. Did the best we could.”
I wonder how they’d feel if we just pretend they don’t exist. No calls. No call ins to the radio shows. No emails. No polls. Just come on here and talk about them like they’re already gone. I bet that will scare them more than a live protest. That’s my plan.

The end of the two party system was when not one member of the house had the guts to stand up to Boehner. Now all that’s left is a few still trying to hang on to a memory of the grand old party, refusing to accept that their friends killed it.
