The Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) criticized U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) Wednesday for allowing a $2 billion Kentucky earmark to be added to the debt deal he negotiated with U.S. Senator Harry Reid (D-NV). SCF Executive Director Matt Hoskins made the following statement:
"Americans are familiar with the 'Cornhusker Kickback' that Nebraska Senator Ben Nelson was given in exchange for his vote on Obamacare. Well now Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell has an Obamacare earmark of his own.
"The McConnell-Reid deal not only funds Obamacare and suspends the debt limit, it also includes a provision in Section 123 that increases funding for the Olmsted Locks and Dam in Kentucky from $775 million to $2.9 billion.
"In exchange for funding Obamacare and raising the debt limit, Mitch McConnell secured a $2 billion Kentucky kickback.
"This is an insult to Kentucky families who don't want to pay for Obamacare and who don't want to shoulder any more debt.
"Mitch McConnell is trying to blame others for this abuse, but everyone knows he negotiated this deal and everyone knows he wrote the bill. If he didn't want the earmark included, he could have kept it out.
"Also, this isn't the first time he has supported funds for this project. He also requested $100 million for it in 2010.
"This is what's wrong with Washington and it's what's wrong with Mitch McConnell."

On June 9, 1776, John Adams wrote from Philadelphia, "Objects of the most stupendous magnitude, and measures in which the lives and liberties of millions yet unborn are intimately interested, are now before us . . . ."
On June 11, a Committee was formed to develop a declaration of their intentions.
On July 4, 1776, a lengthy Declaration of Independence was adopted which changed the world! William Ellery, Rhode Island, later wrote that he stood where he could watch every person sign the document: "I was determined to see how they all looked as they signed what might be their death warrant. I . . . eyed each closely . . . . Undaunted resolution was displayed on every countenance."
What a contrast! Our ancestors, in less than a month, took the kind of courageous action that leaders who love their country take on behalf of liberty for "millions yet unborn," accomplishing in just weeks what no civilization had accomplished before.
Today, feckless pretenders to leadership, living like kings in previous monarchies, personally risking nothing, make excuses for inaction and allow the precious inheritance of freedom to be risked for the sake of political power.
At current prices, 100M pieces of silver for selling out 300M Americans, or 3 Americans per piece of silver.
A traitor’s bread is always buttered.
“Olmsted Locks and Dam in Kentucky from $775 million to $2.9 billion.”
Saw this on Fox this morning. I don’t know why, but I was surprised, shocked and felt betrayed all at the same time.
Sold the party down the river for a kick back.
The word “prostitute” comes to mind.
Hope the Tea Party and Sara Palin goes after this prixk.
You used to be so amused,
At Harry Reid in a tie and the language that he used.
“terrorist!” “Anarchist!” “Arsonist!” “Jaywalker!”
Go to him now, he calls you, you can’t refuse.
When you aint got nothing, youve got nothing to lose
You’re invisible now, youve got no secrets to conceal.
