Word is that insurance companies are NOT happy with the new provision that requires them to verify income and eligibility before they can issue a policy. The insurance companies were the ones that had petitioned Obama to postpone the verification requirements in the first place. The reason being is that there is currently no simple "one stop" system in place for them to do the verifications. Since the onus is now on the companies to obtain information to verify eligibility, they will be on the hook if they issue a policy without doing so.
So how will this hurt Obamacare as a whole? It will add another layer of bureaucracy to an already obtuse and convoluted system and make it even harder for people to sign up than it is now. It will also create delays as the insurance companies must verify eligibility before they can issue the policy. Last, it could very well drive some insurance providers out of the exchanges altogether and keep others from joining (participation is already very low with some states only having a single company).
No chit ... and look at them gloat. RNC is dead to me.
Hate to say it...but Schmucky is not wrong.
Since they wanted to lift the sequester, they didn’t REALLY get everything they wanted. They DID end up with the bill they originally agreed to back on September 30th, with a small change.
Which should REALLY get an unbiased press to ask — why didn’t Reid bargain with McConnell in September for this deal? Why did he wait until 2 weeks of shutdown.
Anyway, this wasn’t really a bargain, it was surrender terms. We didn’t really bargain away anything. That’s like saying the Japanese “bargained” badly at the end of WW2.
We lost the war. But just remember — Texas LOST at the Alamo as well. But that doesn’t mean the Alamo was a senseless fight.
he’s right, because checking income before giving ppl subsidizes was already part of obamacare. So basically GOP got what was already law
Karma’s gonna get you Schumer. I am curious about your business with Mexico and their drugs.
We haven't had a real conservative as president since Reagan who left office 25 years ago. Bush I got into office because the Dems ran the worst candidate in history, Michael Dukakis. Bush II got into office by lying and telling everyone he was a "compassionate conservative". He governed like a mushy moderate and rapidly moved us toward bankruptcy.
Now the GOP holds the House but cannot hold the line on spending. Gee, I wonder why?
It's because we are being crushed in the vice of a Hegelian dialectic. The Dems and the GOP are on the same team and working toward the same goal - complete control. If you control both teams, you always win. Those who whine that we can't have a third party don't understand that a third party would actually be a second party.
If we stick with the current political landscape, we lose America and our freedom. Take the red pill and wake up.
Guess what Chuckie..... YOU OWN IT ALL - LOCK,STOCK, AND BARREL.
The republican leadership didn’t even fight... they didn’t even negotiate... they rolled over exposing their fat bellies for schmucky to rub.
Of course they did. The GOP is just another wing of the Democratic Party....they just provide the cover to make it look like there was opposition.
I don’t think kicking the can to January is EVERYTHING the rats wanted.
Let’s do this again. Right after New Years.....
I'm leaving the Republican party as I have been threatening for several years. I usually do not vote for people any more only the ballot proposals so as an Independent I can still vote on them.
Republicans! What a "bunch" of gutless wonders. People who have sunk to the nonentity status of "Jesse Jackson," "Al Sharpton," "The Divine One" in short those who do not belong but who are in control. How vile, low and loathsome like looking into a cesspool.
The GOPe have been played like fiddles for decades. They love it.
It may be seen as a fig leaf but it is more than a fig leaf. I can’t believe they were going to roll this thing forward without verification of eligibility for the subsidies. That makes it infinitely damaging, rather than enormously damaging, and there’s a difference. I guess they figured they could always allow fraud, just as in the disability program. But we made it illegal.
Onward to repeal of the entire dungpile at some future date.
Chuckie just told everyone what “Bipartisanship” really is.
Is anyone here surprised by this?
He let the Rat out of the bag.
Chuckie Cheese classy as usual. Typical Marxist scum.
Chuckie is right.
MY SUGGESTION?
We at Free Republic take up A SPECIAL collection to find WHOEVER is running against that turtle-necked old bastard Mitch McConnell the CHIEF architect of this catastrophe.
HE should be the political target of the day
“fig leaf”?
Healthcare.gov is falling to pieces, and there’s now a brand new systems integration requirement generated that MUST be included, by law.
Where does the income validation come from? How long will it take to establish the interface? Once the interface IS established, how long does the actual verification take?
I dont think this is a fig leaf. It’s a major new, late arriving systems requirement thats going to cause even more problems with Healthcare.gov.
