Capitol Hill talk regarding the Senate deal apparently includes a provision that would take away the Congress power to increase the debt ceiling. According to Politico, it looks like the buzz appears to be true.:
The plan includes a proposal offered by McConnell in the 2011 debt ceiling crisis that allows Congress to disapprove of the debt ceiling increase, which means lawmakers will formally vote on whether to reject a debt ceiling increase until Feb. 7. Obama can veto that legislation if it passes. If Congress fails as expected to gather a two-thirds majority to override the veto, the debt ceiling would be raised.

I see the RNC staff are spinning the Ugly facts here !
Why the hell would Judas Mitch include this crap but to Keep the Spending
going non stop for K street !
There was NO Reason to insert this clause but to screw the Repub house!
Who are you trying to Fool !
Do you work for Mitch !
Well, you and I know they’ll make for permanent. It is always this incrementalism.
These people are dumber than dirt and are abdicating their one responsibility. What a pathetic display by Republicans caving in on every issue.
Why not just issue obozo a no limit debt card? Serious question at this point as we are now officially a one party nation.
have you noticed the trolls defending this unreal clause slipped in here!
Is Mitchy Judas has his reelection staff working overtime !
Soon you will simply download your money, save it as a jpg file and print out as much as you want.
Heck, if it is good enough for the government.......

Once this passes, all that’s left for Obama to do is to set fire to the Reichstag.
Though, as others point out, he can only borrow money for spending already authorized by congress he can borrow as much as he wants.
He doesn’t have to choose which Democrat donor he’s going to give authorized money to- he can pay them all.
A debt limit amount instead of a debt limit date forces him to choose who gets what.
I hope he abuses it so that come the next debt limit bill the idea of using a date is discredited.
Something you are obviously missing. The debt ceiling keeps rising....because of government spending. This latest lil show was only for appearances during the coming election cycle.
Gubbamint hasn't slowed spending one tiny itty bitty bit.
Come February, they will give Obozo another 1.1 Trillion smack-a-roos. That's “T” for trillion.
Thanks, Perdogg for starting thread! Been posting the link on every other thread I’ve been on in the last hour! Drudge has it at the top left of the page.
If we had an honest media this debt ceiling increase wouldn’t pass and we’d have no problems. not being sarcastic. it’s true the media create a false reality. there was no chance of default but the media lied and pushed this crap true

This bill also includes $2 BILLION for a project in McConnell land.
So, you would be happy if Obama decided to issue 10T in new debt? The odds are near zero that Congress would get 2/3rds to override his veto.
You seem quite excited about Obama having this power?
Do you not understand the utter evil of shifting this power (to issue new debt) to the President?
I guess your Pals at the DUmp are excited.
This provision is pure evil and anyone who believes it is no big deal is either an idiot or evil themselves.
I suspect the Rnc and Mitchy ‘s aides are trying to limit the damage to him by lying here !

I understand the outrage but in a practical sense it matters not. Makes absolutely no difference. Name one time they have NOT raised the debt ceiling. They have this periodic drama dance then the RINOs cave and the debt ceiling gets raised. I understand the purpose of the debt ceiling to elevate the matter to the public’s attention etc. But I see no results in the way of spending reductions happening. Just a bunch of hot air. Even Cruz is caving. Screw em all.
