Grover Norquist isnt happy with the Defunders. The Americans for Tax Reform president told reporters today that they have a lot of apologies to make and bridges to re-build.
Itd be a good idea if they stopped referring to other Republicans as Hitler appeasers because they opposed the strategy they put forward which failed, Norquist says. I think if you make a mistake as big as what they did, you owe your fellow senators and congressmen a big apology and your constituents, as well, because nothing they did advanced the cause of repealing or dismantling Obamacare.
Norquist refrained from naming the specific people who he thinks owe apologies to the rest of the conservative movement, but his reference is transparent during his lengthy floor speech, Senator Ted Cruz said Republicans who supported a CR that would fund Obamacare were comparable to Neville Chamberlain.
Norquist adds that the defund effort has hurt its proponents goals.
They hurt the conservative movement, they hurt peoples health care, they hurt the countrys economic situation and they hurt the Republican party, he says. And a lot of congressmen and senators are not going to win because we spent three months chasing our own tail or at least, parts of the conservative movement spent three months chasing their own tail.
He also compared the Defunders strategy to that of the Iraq invasion.
These are the people who said, Plan: Step One, Invade Iraq. Step Two, It turns into Kansas, Norquist says. Could I ask if theres anything in between Step One and Step Two? Oh ye of little faith.
They both can go piss up a rope.
Then, with a little luck-they both can swing from it...
This incident has provided wonderful clarity - to those willing to see.
Welcome to the party. I did it after they (not we) nominated Romney.
Just turned 71 and never in all of my cognitive years thought this country would be controlled by Marxists but here we are.
And when we have a government run by politicians that no longer comply with our constitutional laws. Everyone of the republicans that sold their souls and their country to the, Marxist media and the devil (or at least his demons) should be lined up to endure the wrath of their constituents. But for that I reckon we will have to wait for our chance to vote their sorry asses out of office. Defund the GOP.
“Heres my apology, Norquist:
I apologize for thinking that the GOP represents my core beliefs. Tomorrow, Ill be changing my political affiliation from Republican to Independent.”
You and me both. The first time I voted it was for Reagan at 18 years of age as a newly registered Republican.
I’m now finished with this joke of a party.
I’m right there with you guys. I’ve had it!
So damn tired of hearing/reading what all these traitors are spewing. I refuse to adhere to their battered wife syndrome, I’m DONE.
Grover should go and hang out with Tokyo Rove.
Awe c’mon ‘tank! That anti-American scum muzzie piece of SH$T Norquist, whom the American soil based islamic terrorist outfit C.A.I.R employs as one of their lobbyists, agenda setters and overall heavy hitters, can’t be all that bad......The National Rifle Association sits him as one of their board members! (And years on now, STILL hard to believe that one).
Grover owes an apology to all the service men and women who have been killed and maimed by his Moslem handlers.
My God. The libs are just wetting themselves at the utter mess our side is in.
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants... bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society. Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors. [but hes not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.
Grover Norquist can go pi$$ up a rope.
If the house sticks to their guns the democrats will have no choice but to pass one of our many budget proposals.
If the house surrenders as they say it will, we have already lost everything and the republican party is demonstratively and practically a worthless organization unable and unwilling to stand up for anything when they have the power to do it.
If that is the case, if the republican party caves tomorrow then it means quite simply that the party is incapable of standing for anything and is willing to be pushed around by democrats, as their wiping boy. Thus not a real political party at all.
I think its quite obvious that a 3rd party is at that point the only option. It may take a decade or more to build up, but if this is the moral conviction of the republican party there can be no other option.
He’s been a “plant” the entire time.
Ever since he married a Muslim. Now he pretends to care about the country.
Been inside the Beltway too long. Step out into Real America Grover!
Van Jones? Ouch
Ted Cruz needs to apologize for trying to do something about Obamacare?!
Get lost Norquist, you narcissistic, shape-shifting weirdo.
