If we don’t even have the numbers to take over the GOP, what good would a third (really second) party do?

We could at least go down as honest men.

I would rather win as an honest man than go down as one. Don't get me wrong, I'm not die hard Republican, but I just don't see how going third party is going to improve things.

I've asked this before on FR, but I'll ask again: if conservatives were to start taking over the GOP from the grass roots up, is there any legal means available to the GOPe to stop us?
