President Obama understands "the frustrations of the American people" more than anybody else. At least, that's what he told WABC in an interview:

"One thing that I've shown is that if I say I'm prepared to compromise on something, I can deliver votes and we can get it done," Obama said. "So, look: Nobody shares the frustrations of the American people more than I do because I see day in and day out the damage that something like a shutdown does."
