Well it was funny to ME.
Emergency medicine/trauma and she wants to do Doctors without Borders. She is also graduating with a minor in Spanish and she will have enough hours/experience to be certified as a translator.
She’s thinking about after a few years, going to be a PA or a Nurse Practitioner.
She’s a natural with people and really good with kids.

I have met all too may “Book learnin” medical/nursing professionals...they can quote theory and medical books GREAT! BUT>..if you put a human being in front of them, they have no freakin clue what to do!! Best anatomy class I ever had, was when the local small town pathologist, allowed me to “assist” with an autopsy. He took 2 HOURS teaching me about the human body........lessons that served me VERY well throughout my career, I hasten to add!
I’d line up to do that. Reminds me of everyone lined up in that scene in “Airplane” to slap the hysterical lady.
I made my wife, now ex, a bouquet of flowers out of paper. She was disappointed until imshowed her that each had a “I promise to do...” on each, that was something or other she wished I would do. The rule was, if she gave a flower back, no matter what I was doing, I had to stop and do the promise on that flower. But, when I finished the task, I could use the flower to light a cigar, and it could not be redeemed again.
That worked until she started bitching, and I pointed out that one of the flowers was, “I promise to listen to your bitching.”

I’ll bet it did. My kid loved it in her Path class on the person. She did all the stitching back up. I know I couldn’t hack it. I started thinking about the person I was staring at. About their life. I lasted 5 minutes until run out of room and dry heave.
Best ebdorsement I ever got, was that Admiral writing me a personal card stating “I would not have these stars, were it not for you, and I thank you, Commander” (He and I did some things that had never been done before, training folks for desert warfare......and just when it was needed most, I hasten to add! Yeah......Im proud of the years I served under him..always will be.
Is it curvy like that so when you are drunk, you’ll stay on the path?

That statement tells me she is all over the board.........For what it is worth, I would highly recommend she work on a med surg unit for a year to hone her skills in the basics.....you can not be a good ER nurse, if you do not have a firm foundational base in the basics of assessments and med surg nursing.....WAY too many nurses think they can graduate and be specialists...and trust me on this..they CANT.. It is like saying...I want to go into politics...Im gonna run for US Senator” (see what I mean?) And I am advising that as an old war horse ER trauma nurse that has done many MANY interviews and hiring.....I want her to succeed :-) Nuff said
