Reid Slams New House GOP Debt Limit Offer (Hissy fit)
Roll Call ^ | 10/15/13 | Meredith Shiner

Posted on 10/15/2013 12:46:34 PM PDT by jimbo123

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said Tuesday he was “blindsided” by news that House Republicans were moving forward on their own debt limit bill and “disappointed” in Speaker John A. Boehner, R-Ohio, for doing so.

Reid said on the floor that the new House GOP plan — which includes a number of Obamacare-related provisions and omits instructions for a budget conference — is “unproductive” and “a waste of time,” suggesting its only purpose was to cater to tea party conservatives and preserve Boehner’s speakership.

“I know I speak for many of us who have been working in good faith when I say that we felt blindsided by the news from the House, but this isn’t the first time. Extremist Republicans in the House of Representatives are attempting to torpedo the Senate’s bipartisan progress with a will that can’t pass the Senate … and won’t pass the Senate,” Reid said. “I am very disappointed with John Boehner, who would once again try to preserve his role at the expense of the country. I have worked hard to rise above partisanship, to find common ground in the Senate.”

Reid doesn’t even know what “good faith” is.

“I have worked hard to rise above partisanship, to find common ground in the Senate.”

What a crock of bull$h!t.

What? You don’t believe that Reidtard has risen above partisanship? He is so far beyond partisanship that he makes partisanship look like surrender and he has definitely found common ground among his demonrat compadres. Though I agree that the protuberance upon his neck has greater resemblance to a “crock of bull$h!t” than a head.

Here Bohner has a great idea because if the GOP knew how to fight like Dems do they would all get on TV and call Reid out for trying to protect his own special subsidy, with the above complaint by him.

My question is why didn't the House GOP do this before now?

For the same reason? (they want that subsidy themselves?)

A move like this is not going to help the GOP unless they are capable of explaining it, and fight like Dems, coordinate your message.

“Extremist Republicans in the House of Representatives”

Yeah, people who actually work for a damn living and pay their taxes! Not like the leaches who voted for the hateful old fart Harry Reid who has torpedoed the entire budget year after year after year by ignoring it!

Was not passing a budget for four years another example of Dingy Harry’s “good faith”?

As long as we make the 18 billion in monthly interest payments on the debt then exceeding the so-called “deadline” will not affect our credit rating — and that’s according to Moody”s.

Dingy sounded more unhinged than usual today.
Threat of House bailing after vote? or that he’ll have to enroll in Obummercare? both?

“I have worked hard to rise above partisanship, to find common ground in the Senate.”

Sept. 13, 2013

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Monday that there is an “anarchy movement underfoot.”

“But we’re not going to bow to Tea Party anarchists,” Reid said on the Senate floor.

Reid said “radicals” and “extremists” within the Republican Party are threatening a government shutdown if they insist on defunding ObamaCare in a resolution to fund the government.

Reid warns of ‘unreasonable extremists’ in gun debate

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, kicked off Monday’s session by saying the victims of December’s Connecticut shooting rampage deserve a vote on gun legislation and warning of “unreasonable extremists” who may try to derail or delay the process.

Mr. Reid said protecting citizens’ Second Amendment rights and working to prevent gun violence are “both worthy goals, and they should not be mutually exclusive goals.”

“This compromise legislation shouldn’t be controversial,” Mr. Reid said, adding that he hopes “there aren’t going to be a few unreasonable extremists” that will try to prevent a vote.

“Newtown deserves a vote,” Mr. Reid said.

Harry is holding out for the blank check (CR) that has been passed in the past.

I would hold out forever, passing house bill after house bill with strict budget limits for small sections of the government.

Never bring back the furloughed government workers. They get back pay when the furlough is over. Let it never be over.

Contrary to Harry Reid’s opinion, Tea Party members like government just fine

By Letters to the Editor

Recently Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid accused the Tea Party of being “anarchists,” “extremists,” and “fanatics.” He has said they are bullies who hate government.

But is this the truth? At Tea Party meetings you are likely to hear people discussing not only the Constitution, but the Federalist Papers, or Locke’s Second Treatise on Government. These are odd subjects for anarchists who hate government.

The Tea Party is not centrally organized, so there is some diversity in the wording of its core beliefs, but the five principles of the Dallas Tea Party are representative:

fiscal responsibility
limited government
personal responsibility
the rule of law
national sovereignty

I ask Senator Reid: Which of these five principles is extreme? How do you reconcile the accusations of anarchy and hate for government with the rule of law?

The motto of the Dallas Tea Party is “Stand Up for Liberty!” What’s so bad about that? It is certainly more appealing than the shrill rhetoric of the left.
