When Mary Porter enrolled last year at East Central Community College in Rolla, Mo., she landed a job at a fast-food restaurant and worked full-time for minimum wage to pay the bills. Things were looking up for the budding college student, who had grown up a ward of the states foster care system.
But earlier this year, Porters hours were cut. Her employer cited the Affordable Care Act as the reason, she told The College Fix.
Then they told us that they couldnt afford to pay us health insurance, said Porter, 22, who is no longer allowed to work more than 25 hours a week.

a healthcare CEO told me he’s convinced the Rats pushed thru what they knew would be a disastrous system knowing R’s would screw themselves fighting over it and the Rats would be able to “fix it” by implementing single payer under Pres. Hillary.
I can’t say he’s wrong...yet at least.
“get everyone clamoring for single-payer since this is a mess.”
How about get everyone to clamor to END this mess by ridding ourselves of Obamacare?
This “act” is a human rights violation. In the truest sense oof the word. It is subjugating our right to liberty and turning us into wards of the state.
They will be working multiple part time jobs to make up the hours.
“a healthcare CEO told me hes convinced the Rats pushed thru what they knew would be a disastrous system knowing Rs would screw themselves fighting over it and the Rats would be able to fix it by implementing single payer under Pres. Hillary.”
Ha! Seriously? He thinks Americans would be stupid enough to trust the Democrats to do it a second time? .........Yeah, he’s probably right.
Hey, for old time’s sake maybe these kids will wear their “Yes We Can” t-shirts to the unemployment or Food Stamp line!
GIVEN THAT OBAMA SAID HE WAS FOR SINGLE PAYER years ago, and he’s on video, saying that that is the goal, it may take 15-20 years, “but we’ll get there”....
Think we could make a buck selling t-shirts with that says:
ZERO - Yes They Did!
The solution to that clamor is to be pointing out now that:
A. Every one of the people who had a hand in this are such idiots they must not be allowed a seat at the table regarding medicine ever again. In any capacity.
B. Single payer would be this on an exponentially greater scale as far as reducing benefits and total access to care.
And C. The people who didn’t read the bill when this first came up, and denied that it would be as bad as it obviously is have shown that their capacity to evaluate things in the political realm dispassionately is minimal. Do not let them influence you again. (Fool me once, shame on you...).
But...but... but.... this isn’t the way the professor said it would happen...
What it actually is, it’s funny watching people get their comeuppance.
It is somewhat amnusing to watch the stupid, the LIBs, the DIMs and other miscreants squirm and whine. Bwahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
I have to say, I’m very surprised I haven’t heard any complaints from the libs or the regime about the “evil corporations” who are denying insurance coverage to their employees and cutting their hours on top of it in order to avoid “their responsibility”. I really expected to hear that.
He’s right.
Months ago, I overheard someone who I know is a huge Chicago Democrat activist smugly characterize zer0care as “A good first step.” The progs all knew the script, even if they denied it in public.
In my state foster kids are provided with a stipend for higher education.
I get it that Obama wants to destroy the American economy, jobs, etc. and cause turmoil to create single-payer health insurance.
But someone please answer this question. Why is there no arguing on why Obamacare says 30 hours is fulltime? Why are there no moves to “fix” Obamacare to stipulate 40 hours as full-time? A lot of part-timers are getting hurt (I know, Obama wants everyone of us to hurt).
The only thing I could find, is Rep. Janice Hahn of California, noted that the intent of the 30-hour full-time employee definition was to increase the number of workers who would be covered by health insurance. She’s the ranking Democrat on a committee hearing complaints asking to change this 30-hour provision. Seems to be having the opposite intended effect, as these workers not only get coverage but are losing work.
Hillarycare had the exact same provision, declaring 30 hours as fulltime. When it was defeated in 1993, the ratio of part-time to full-time workers drastically went down, as companies went on a binge of hiring full-time workers, helping the economy recover from a recession.
Rhambo Emanuel’s bro Zeke wrote a piece in the WSJ this week claiming stories of “29ers” just aren’t true.
He’s full of shiite.
