Where Are the Arrests Over the World War II Memorial Protest?

A crowd of demonstrators converge upon U.S. government property closed to the public. The demonstrators know that they are prohibited from entering the property. Nonetheless, they push through the metal barricades, chanting, Tear down these walls.
That incident occurred yesterday at the World War II Memorial on the National Mall.
Not confining their protest to the World War II Memorial, some of the protesters then picked up the governments metal barricades and carried them blocks away to the White House, where the barricades were deposited outside the gates.
Television recorded police struggling to keep the protesters away from the White House fence. No arrests were made.
Now, lets see if I have this straight: If a group of people decide they dont like the closing of facilities under the federal government shutdown, they are now empowered to take wire cutters to the locks, push aside barriers and go in and about on their merry way without fear of arrest?

Perhaps if they arrested someone they would need to justify their own closure of the memorials. If the park service just made up a law that did not exist and closed the memorials just to “make it hurt” perhaps it would be the park service in trouble? If I were a defense lawyer (I am not a lawyer) it would be something I might explore....

I think even traitorous kenyan usurper knows better than to try to arrest the Vets.

This oped writer is stupid. The optics of a veteran arrested would seriously harm the Regime.

The writer is a moron. The parks and monuments belong to the citizens not the government. It’s the thugs who are setting up the barricades that should be arrested.

Got news for you Colbert. Blacks fought very well in WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. They should NEVER be barred from any war memorial, nor should any other American servicemen or women. This also included the many foreign citizens who joined our Armed Services to fight and earn their US citizenship.
The great progressive hero Woodrow Wilson used the KKK as his version of Organizing for America. Republican Calvin Coolidge personally undertook a purge to get klansmen out of our government. Wilson also increased the existing segregation of blacks "for their own good". Coolidge got nasty letters from lots of democrats over his desegregation moves and the purge of Klansmen but his one response was perfect.
During the war 500,000 colored men and boys were called up under the draft, not one of whom sought to evade it. [As president, I am] one who feels a responsibility for living up to the traditions and maintaining the principles of the Republican Party. Our Constitution guarantees equal rights to all our citizens, without discrimination on account of race or color. I have taken my oath to support that Constitution

The last time I visited DC they arrested 13,000 of us and put thousands of us in internment camps for days without food or blankets or beds and showers, and no sex segregation, they can do it when they want to.

Arresting them would have disrupted the cone of silence put over the event by the post and other media outlets. Moreover the nation would have rallied to the cause even more.
The agit prop of cong dem leaders arrested at illegal immigrant march was part of the preferred theater.
