Good for you! As well as the hand pump for your water well, you might want to consider a small water filter similar to these two models:

As a backup or incase you have to bug-out, almost any source of fresh water (ponds, ditches, streams, lakes, or etc.) can be made potable. Don't forget storage containers. Something in the five gallon size with handles works well (not too small, not too large).

look up SODIS to purify water. clear bottle plus 6 hrs direct sun supposedly kills most pathogens.amazing if true.
