During a routine test of our back-up systems Saturday morning, Xerox’s Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) system experienced a temporary shutdown. While the system is now up and running, beneficiaries in the 17 affected states continue to experience connectivity issues to access their benefits. This disruption impacts EBT beneficiaries who rely on the system for SNAP and WIC. Technical staff is addressing the issue and expect the system to be restored soon.

Yes, it is so hard to accept government handouts...so much harder than working for a living. This is the entitlement mentality. These people are parasites...nothing more.
I think all they need is rumor. From the first announcement of this glitch, I could easily find locations on the web where paranoid persons were assuming that it was Republicans trying to crush the poor. Some posters asked “Is it them? The Republicans are finally making their move?” Obama’s administration will coordinate their efforts to fan the fear and then, no matter what proof is offered, the fearful populace will automatically fling themselves at Obamas feet in order to protect their EBT payments. The administration never has to make a statement - silence and hints are enough. Talk about instant recruitment....!
Nobody has to wait to suggest it, the rumor mill has already started it.
Once a rumor starts on the left it’s considered fact among millions in just a few hours.

I’d get fire fighting equipment close by, and keep items capable of directing gun-powder driven projectiles at the ready in case this thing doesn’t come back up quick enough.
I noticed today that the local Walmart now does not take Cherokee tribal WIC cards.
And my DEBIT card was rejected twice at LOWES! It worked elsewhere.

Poor press coverage. They should have sent reporters to the strip clubs and casino where the ATM card rejections were causing horrendous grief.
Many exotic dancers suffered mightily as a result of this glitch. Truly a two handkerchief malfunction.
