In his weekly radio address on Saturday, President Barack Obama said the government shutdown needed to end so Congress could work on comprehensive immigration reform. Obama rejected a House Republican proposal that would have re-opened the government and raised the debt-ceiling for six-weeks in return for an agreement on a "framework" on negotiations on more long-term budgetary issues. He said "this Republican shutdown" had to end "because there is so much else we should be focusing our energies on right now" and cited immigration as one of the things the government had to "fix." "Weve got to create more jobs, and kids to educate, and an immigration system to fix," Obama said. Obama has recently said that comprehensive immigration reform was his "number-one priority." On Monday, his administration allowed thousands of pro-amnesty protesters to use the National Mall, which was supposed to be closed due to the shutdown, for their rally. The Obama administration has barricaded other open-air spaces like the World War II Memorial.

How about impeachment???
Keep the government shut down, they cannot do amnesty for illegal aliens. Sounds like a good plan.
FUBOITA
No, more like 5 times (immigration, debt limit, leave O-care along, no debt or spending reductions, new tax increases)
I’m sure Bonehead, Cantor and McConnell are ready to bend over
again. They must like it, because they bend over frequently.
Now there’s a hill to die for.
What is the next thing above “double-down”?
The government can’t reopen if the Zero King refuses to “negotiate” and rejects everything the Congress proposes. Repubs need a stiff spine and not give the idiot everything he wants and expects. Let him whine and cry some more.
A rhetorical question, no doubt.
I guess fixing the nation’s economy that is 17 trillion dollars in debt and getting tens of millions of unemployed Americans back to work isn’t a big priority compared to giving legal status to illegal aliens. Wow, I’m glad to know that Washington is on top of the things that really matter to the American people.
This guy is in outer space.
Immigration is another reason to stay with the shut down.
I no longer want a simple IMPEACHMENT of this clown, I wish for the FULL MEASURE OF THE LAW to be exacted.
Also, I'm sorry to say it, but California just created de facto amnesty with driver's licenses for illegals. We have such a large percentage of them here, and others will come here just for the license. They have to have them to sign up for California Care, dontcha know.
Your statement is true but an oxymoron of sorts.
Because the problems you list can only be solved by SHRINKING the government. Will government shrink itself?
NO!! We need to win some elections first! Conservatives blew 4 senate seats by nominating Akin, Mourdock, Sharon Angle and what’s her face in Delaware. All those senate seats were winnable with better candidates, even if they were not pure. Instead we got Reid for majority leader.
Isn’t that another good reason to keep it closed?
As we’ve seen today with the EBT “glitch” we have an entire sub-class that has to be fed, housed, educated and now medicated at the expense of the productive class.
But that isn’t enough for Barry, Juan, Bush & Co. They want to saddle us with Mexico’s ‘deadheads’ as well.
Keep it shutdown! They’re cheaper if we pay them for sitting on their collective azzes.
Actually Boehner and McCain would agree with that statement.
