PHILLIPS: The last days of the Republican Party
The Washington Times ^ | October 12, 2013 | Judson Phillips

Posted on 10/12/2013 1:05:58 PM PDT by Conservative Beacon

The Republican Party was born in the darkest days of the American Republic.

In the next few days it will die.

The Republican Party saved the Union and abolished slavery. The Republican Party stood against Franklin Roosevelt’s internment of Japanese Americans during World War II and against Jim Crow laws in the 50’s.

On a hot summer day, the most famous Republican of the Twentieth Century stood before one of the great icons of tyranny, and over the objection of his cowardly, country club Republican advisors, Ronald Reagan demanded, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”

In 1975, Reagan told conservatives to raise a banner of bold colors, not pale pastels. Today’s Republican banner is the colorless banner of John Boehner’s freshly laundered white flag of surrender.

The Republican Party will die of suicide by cowardice.

The GOP showed NO COWARDICE going after the children
of Gov. Palin for Romney (so he could run the NEXT time).

The GOP showed NO COWARDICE when it imposed by Romney’s fiat
both gay marriage and RomneyCARE/ObamaCARE/statism.

The odds are unlikely it will change.

Yup

Boner’s history.

Maybe Ryan and the other weasels think they can take over, but they’ll be leading a tiny, irrelevant, but noisy faction.

Either they adopt the Tea Party as the core of the institution or...they dry up and blow away.

Being the Sensible Surrender Monkey is not a leading policy.

Conservatives are expected to line up and support moderates when they win the nomination, as conservatives did in 2008 with John McCain and 2012 with Mitt Romney. But when a conservative wins, support is optional for the moderates of the party. This is happening today in Virginia, where conservative Ken Cuccinelli won the nomination that was supposed to go to moderate Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling. Bolling has pointedly refused to endorse Cucinelli, and according to some reports is preparing to endorse his opponent, Democrat Terry McAuliffe.

I spit on them.

Conservative republicans have overstayed their welcome in the republican party. It's time to form a 3rd party and run against them all.

The GOPe really think they can stab Conservatives in the back and face no consequences for it during the next election.

A week or so ago I sent an email to the NY GOP. In my email I asked if they are intentionally trying to loose elections in NY. I am waiting patiently for their response. So far I have gotten zip from them. Not even a canned response or a letter asking for a donation.

You go ahead and try to “change the party”.

Been talking about that since ‘76.

It’s a con game.

We have seen our cities overrun with hostile foreigners from the country next door, a nation we defeated in war. The “Republican” party does nothing to secure our freedom and land by keeping us from being ruled by an enemy nation.

We have seen our incomes STOLEN to fund a self appointed Nomenklatura class, a resurrection of Feudal Slavery, with the new overlords referred to as “Bureaucrats”. They even arrogate to themselves the right to make laws without our consent - the Federal Register is just that.

The current “Leadership” of the Republican party has simply gone along with these things for a few pieces of silver thrown their way.

Craven Corruption is the way of jackals and hyenas, not Free Men.

Quitters? The quitters are the RNC sycophants and Knee Pad wearers of the Congressional leadership.

They had a chance to stop the worst Marxist imposition on America in 100 years and...they just gave up.

Those are the real quitters.

After the elections of 2006 and 2008, the Republican Party was on the political endangered species list. The same Establishment geniuses who thought Mitt Romney and John McCain would be good nominees destroyed the Republican brand and lost control of the White House and the House and Senate to the Democrats.

Along came the Tea Party and saved the GOP.

How did the GOP show its gratitude?

The establishment told the Tea Party to go away and let the professionals handle government. These were the same professionals who screwed things up to begin with.

If the Establishment wants a war with the Tea Party, the Tea Party should welcome that war.

The new 'third party' could be the GOP run by the Tea Party...

It happened in Delaware also, where RINOs gleefully voted for an avowed Marxist over a Conservative.

The Republicans have been dying for the last 15 years. The RINOs like the lime light but in the end they’re worst than the Democrats, pretending to be for smaller government. It’s time the conservatives acknowledge it and move on. We’d do well without the RINOs. Just look at Fox News.

From the article: Boehner and Cantor stumbled around like newly castrated cattle, trying to figure out what they were missing and why.

LOL1 That quote alone makes this a good read.
