Food stamp users across Mississippi and neighboring states were being declined Saturday morning as they tried to use their EBT, or Electronic Benefit Transfer, cards at grocery, dollar and convenience stores.
A Sam's Club member services representative, however, said the cards would work if purchases were broken down into smaller increments worth less than $90, but one food stamps user said his card wouldn't work for a $4 purchase.

LOL. It’s even funnier if it’s a parody, I wonder who owns the store.

I had about that much in a cart one time and a small ethnic boy jumped up on the side of the cart, looked it over then looked up at me and said with all sincerity You musta got yo food stamps today No concept of work and money. Just dayum.
Like you said, he has NO idea about the work ethic.
Bless his heart, but at least he's employed. There's still hope for him, I reckon.

Trust me it was not a parody. It was the whole truth.

We might be in the middle of a massive food-stamp fraud sting.
What's in the abandoned carts might tell the whole story.

Been checking the Twitter feeds and see a lot of chatter about “Food Stamps being shut off on the 15th anyway.” Advance notice?
To: txhurl
Now THAT would be cool, but since it would be 'racist' (!barf!) and that we are living in a time of proactive institutionalized lawlessness, cannot see such a plan being contemplated much less actually executed. But we can dream can't we.

Was in Wally’s in western PA. Signs all over the place saying that the EBT (food stamps) is down statewide. They apologize for any inconvenience;-)

Are you sure it is “...down all across the U.S...”? My information tells me it is around 25 states.

About half the population in Longview, WA, are on food stamps. Most of these are children whose parents are low income and cannot afford to feed them plus pay rent, utilities, and...well, you get it.

This morning messages went out from the Federal Department of Human Services concerning the EBT card system. Twenty-six states were involved and there were 26 different scenarios stated.
This past week BHO2 had a meeting with 25 Governors, mostly Democrats. This IS NOT a coincidence, IMO!!
By the way, Colorado, which is not on your list, has had failures with their EBT system, too.

how frigging much do they get in food stamps?
That has to be in the hundreds and yet they can afford beer, wine, cigs, take out and eat out, pisses me off.
