So a black man from White Plains had a dog named Brownie who was racist?
To be fair, we now have a basset named Booker who was also a rescued dog. He was kept chained full time in the back yard by his owners, who were white, and when they moved out of town they dropped him off at the vet and abandoned him.
Booker was also traumatized, and didn’t know how to socialize with people. In the early days, he bit a couple of our grandchildren who got too close into his space. Gradually we brought him around, but he still is very sensitive about anyone coming into his space when he’s sleeping. No more biting, at least, just growling. But he loves going for walks and being petted, and he gets on well with our other dogs. Not a racist, at least.
