According to this rather confusing article Adrian Peterson has three kids, apparently by three mothers. It also states that the boy was in critical condition Thursday night but Peterson returned to practice in Minnesota Friday morning.

Our whole culture does that, and has for at least 30 years or so. Sex isn’t the only thing in higher esteem than the well-being of America’s children, either.
A 2-year-old? Probably not. Generally, 2-year-old boys can barely talk.

It becomes extra confusing because there’s “Peterson” the football player and “Patterson,” the baby-mama’s new boyfriend ... and various children of both Peterson and Patterson with various women.
I know these black studs culturally consider vasectomies as reducing their masculinity, but you’d think they would have some condoms available.
These baby mommas can suck up a lot of support money, no?
I know. It’s tragic that this two-year old boy not only already has a child of his own, but has broken up with the child’s mother. So much trouble in such a short life...
Seriously, though, I pray that Adrian Peterson’s little boy recovers completely, and that Mr. Peterson has an opportunity to engage in a long private “conversation” with the child’s assailant.
How do you know it was the Mother that put sex before the safety of the child?
Did she leave Adrian Peterson and run off?
The reason they aren’t together isn’t mentioned, so perhaps you know more than we do about their relationship, but I don’t know why Adrian Peterson made a baby then that baby quit living with him....if it ever did.
Blame Adrian Peterson’s lack of parental supervision as much as the mother.
This is some OTHER woman Peterson apparently had a child with, unlikely a 2 year old since he has a 2 year old with Ashley Brown.
We will have to wait since the MSM has jumped to conclusions and got this mostly wrong.

Yes. It says that the two year old was beaten by a man dating the mother of his (the two year old’s?) child.

I think the sperm donor for that poor child of that poor child is every bit as culpable, why wasn’t he taking his responsibilities first as husband and then as father? He brought this child into the world, after all.
Peterson makes tens of millions, so he;s obviously paying child support..maybe $5-10k/month.
Momma's now got the new boyfriend, and they're all probably living on the monthly check. She breaks up with him, tosses him out..his meal ticket's is now expired..so he goes postal...takes it out on the kid..

10:16 AM PT — Multiple sources tell TMZ ... Peterson’s son is currently on life support and hasn’t had brain activity since 5:30 PM last night.
We’re told the family is monitoring the situation closely, and if there is no improvement in 24 hours, the mother wants to remove life support and donate the boy’s organs to people in need.
10:00 AM PT — Adrian Peterson’s father has confirmed ... the injured boy is, in fact, Adrian’s son ... but it’s NOT Adrian Peterson Jr.
The Pioneer Press spoke with Nelson Peterson ... who says, “All I can say is, we are asking for prayers and for respect for our family as we deal with this tragic situation.”
8:41 AM PT — Multiple sources with direct knowledge of the situation tell TMZ ... the injured child is Adrian’s son, but it’s not Adrian Peterson Jr., the child he’s been famously photographed with in public over the years.
We reached out to Peterson’s reps — but so far, we have not heard back.
