When it comes to Obamacare, the big date weve heard for a long time is Jan. 1, 2014. Thats the day the Affordable Care Act takes full effect, requiring most Americans to be covered, or pay a fine.
Weve also heard that theres a grace period that in this first year, people have until March 31 get covered before the fine will kick in.
But, whoops! It turns out that Mar. 31 date is wrong, the Obama administration confirmed to the Associated Press on Wednesday. In order to have coverage by March 31, you need to enroll by Feb. 15 in other words, the day after Valentines Day to avoid the penalty.

As soon as there IS a “fine” then the basis will exist for a challenge of this as an unconstitutional tax. I think waiting for such a thing to be levied is why it hasn’t gone into the courts yet. And you can expect our rope a dope Bammy, if he hasn’t been tarred and feathered yet by Congress, to suspend the fine! Suspending the capability to challenge it. Giving more people time to experience the joy of this wonderful snafu.
Nope ain’t gonna do it.
Not enrolling, not paying any stinking fine. They can KMA!
By February 15th the website will have a capacity of at least 3 users at one time so all will be skittles and unicorns.
If Wolf Blitzer, CBS, Jon Stewart, Warren Buffet, et al, already see the massive failure of the registration process and are suggesting a 12-month delay, we just need to let Obama's signature accomplishment "twist in the wind" a few weeks more and even dingy Harry will be begging the Republicans to help him delay all of Obamacare one more year.
If 20,000,000 of the 40,000,000 uninsured are going to sign up in the next 120 days, that's 166,000 successful registrations a day. Connecticut's Healthcare website has signed up 1,700 folks in 11 days. That's more than the Feds have throughout the rest of the country.
An Ebay or Amazon might triage and patch-up a massive Web app that is massively failing in 2-3 months, but not with Federal govt. red tape applied by Obama and HHS.
Better make sure you’re not getting a refund then, because that’s where they will take it from.
I’m not. They expect a check from me made out to “US Treasury” so they can turn it over to the “underprivileged.”
The problem here is that the government’s already stated that they have no way to track who is signing up for Obamacare. If they can’t track who’s signed up, they can’t track who does or does not owe taxes. It would have to be a check box on the tax return forms, and even that they said they can’t track.
I’m going to laugh my fat ass off when it comes around to next summer and people are expecting returns and not getting them. The real anger will start when people have this “fine” applied to their returns. People often base their entire yearly existence off of a tax return. If it’s a little lighter from Obamacare, only then will they realize what’s happened.
Obamacare.
God... or Pharaoh, ruler of the house of bondage? Whoever entrusts beast.gov with his life and well-being (liberty and happiness) will discover that any supposed benefit lasts only as long as he is content to genuflect to and obey Fedzilla. Once he attempts to get off his knees he will become a target along with those who wouldn't bow from the get-go.
The rejection and willing exchange of self-evident truths for a lie will not end well. The longer the Obamacare exchange remains FUBAR, the longer people have to apprehend the weight of the matter.
Obama has already sought fit to remove the Creator from the Declaration of Independence.

I hope that the courts are clogged with 100,000 lawyers bringing suits by individuals when and if the time comes.

I predict a lot more cash transactions. Maybe a return to bartering....
You mean the feds may not be able to "tax" us for buying nothing?
Is the family income for calendar year 2014, 2015 etc?
If yes, how is this calculated? Wouldn’t this be an estimated amount?
It’s an estimate...as you know, all the numbers are cast in stone except when they’re not.
