LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) - Until very recently, the National Park Service was one of the least-loathed government agencies in the country. Now, with orders from on high to keep the public from visiting beloved parks and monuments the agency is developing a poor reputation.

It what looks like a spiteful move, the NPS even removed handles from water spigots along the Chesapeake and Ohio canal where bikers and joggers exercise as well as along the Great Allegheny Passage, just to ensure people don't get any water from them...

The lack of resignations from government, military, and other government entities over this administration is stunning to me.
I do not believe there are any limits to what these people would do to keep “their” checks coming.
Once honorable institutions cannot be counted upon to do the right thing.

you have to realize the Park Service has always been manned by biology majors and wildlife & recreation folks of the forestry departments at universities. Not the most politically conservatives folks.
I also have always questioned how many gov employees and military folks would say” I’m just following orders”

Good. I don’t care. I don’t spend money on socialists anyway. They need the money that socialist tourists spend on services, fuel, parks, fees, resorts, etc., more than I need to spend money on them.
If this cold civil war ever goes hot, many of these government employees will be like many of the NOPD cops in the wake of Katrina: holed-up somewhere safe, with as much government-owned property (vehicles, fuel, ammo) as they can sneak out the door.
I wonder if anyone actually witnessed the handles being removed. Seems more likely the work of vandals capitalizing on the reduced security presence due to furloughs. Any reports of Zer0 or Harry Reid lurking in the area?

Its the typical biased POS you would expect from them. The first of four photos,the one everyone sees of course, was of a neighbor of mine who blames it on the GOP. The Herald of course does not have the guts to actually claim its the GOP’s fault but we already know where they stand. Me more than most since I wrote for those a-holls for 11 years.
I had a bunch of friends there heading the thing up. I had to work or would have been there as well.
One of my best friends Capt. Randy Towe headed the entire mission up and gave a speech on vhf channel 79 and a bull horn. These guys are losing money big time and will have a really tough time rescheduling their clients if they are able to do that at all.
WE are fast heading to a prime time fall fishing peak so we are hoping they will open the park portion of Fla. Bay soon.

I attended one at the Memphis auditorium when I was a teen. The goal was to inform Americans as to how the Communist intended to take over America.
