– Some Catholic priests under contract or GS (general schedule) to the military are not allowed to offer the Catholic sacraments--including saying Mass, consecrating marriages, or performing baptisms--on military property during the government shutdown, and if they do, even on a volunteer basis, they risk being arrested, according to the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA.

The Archdiocese for the Military Services in the US estimates that 50 priests were prevented from celebrating Mass on military bases on Sunday, October 6, because of a policy barring civilian chaplains during the federal government shutdown.

Although the US House of Representatives voted 400 to 1 to allow civilian chaplains on bases, and the Defense Department announced that it was recalling civilian employees, these policies apparently came too late to allow some chaplains to administer the sacraments.

Chaplains have been assured that they will be able to resume normal schedules this coming Sunday.

I’m just pointing out that people, not practicing Catholics, go after priests and no one else, as virulently

This quote was taken from the webb site: CatholicCulture.org

I did a Bing search, but did not find any comments from a bishop about this matter.

My guess this is another of the many revolting moves made by 0bama. Taking two steps forward, then taking one step backward.

Eventually the tallest mountain can be climbed this way.

If any of these priests are the same ones who shield the pedophiles in their church then I doubt if their blessings amount to anybody’s salvation anyway. Be a great time for Pope Franky to speak up and maybe take an actual stand.

Nice pic so maybe the Kenyan is actually a Shriner? Kind of assuming the Royal Exhausted Rooster manner of the Grand Poobah. Is he sitting on a flying carpet?

The former communist leader (Jaruzelski) in Poland tried to do the same thing - restricting the Catholic religion. The world was outraged. The pope came to visit the man the communists arrested (Lech Walenca). Ultimately the communists lost. Our Fascist here will lose too.

Obama does not seem to realize the seriousness of the powers he is offending: God, Veterans, gun owners. Democrats may not care, but they should.

This already should be such a lesson. To such “Catholics”.

But it won’t be for two reasons:

1. Such “Catholics” don’t care enough to know that this is going on, and...

2. ...they also don’t know because the “news” outlets they get their information from are the likes of ABC, CBS, and NBC. And we know this isn’t being reported there.

Heck, they probably wouldn’t even report it even if a priest DID get arrested.

Too many sob stories to report about park rangers, and those that service them, out of a job don’tcha know.

The “news” outlets these days remind me more and more of the journalists in the miniseries “V”: sycophants to the end, even while their own people are being eaten.
